Whenever I am stressed about trying to be responsible for too many things, my dreams warn me by showing me narratives about small animals I'm hopelessly trying to rescue. The cure is always to mercifully cull the weakest baby animals and only keep the most important ones I have the energy and resources for. Can't save them all.

I adopted "Be the thing that transforms" as one of my many mottos a year or two ago to remind myself that those who live at the yin yang egde of chaos and order, potential and fact, are the ones who adjust the fastest when the world keeps flipping. Since then this lil character has become something of an online avatar for me.

I've been digging in the old forbidden vaults (external drive I use for archiving old stuff) and found this little 12 page zine I made around 2005 with my little sister. I was 14, she was 5, and she helped draw and color things.

I drew this comic years ago when I was too poor to buy food and imagined a future where you get food stamps that you use to print food out from your government backed bio 3D printer.
Online you can find all sorts of hacks for tricking the code reader and visual detection system in the printer. It's not strictly legal but beats eating synthetic eggplant, mango and oatmeal.
