Why Being Poor Is So Expensive - EARLY ACCESS, AD-FREE, AND UNCENSORED

Hi. Conservatives love to label poor people as lazy and irresponsible, but America makes life incredibly difficult and expensive for the poor in ways that keep them at a stark disadvantage.

Why Being Poor Is So Expensive - EARLY ACCESS, AD-FREE, AND UNCENSORED

I just wanted to say that this episode finally spurred me onto joining your Patreon! It was excellent! Thanks so much for all the work you guys are doing. I just wish your output had a wider audience (obviously it's not a reflection on your amazing work, it's maybe more a reflection on how mainstream media and capitalism in general profits off suppressing these ideas and information.... But imagine a world where a few more people were genuinely paying attention to this stuff!!!

I'm late, too, but diving in. In 2019, my house burned down. Fortunately,i had good insurance because I'm a veteran and I can get it through USA a.i got my settlement and paid off my student loans paid off my house and all my credit card debt and my credit score inside of it in a year was up to 800 twenty.i hadn't bought another house yet because I put some money into my business and I moved into a new situation I became an LLC and I brought on a couple of partners. We found a location and started getting it ready to open at the beginning of 20 twenty.you can probably see where this is going, anyway I had mishes with my taxes because of the change in the business structure and I got ripped off by 2 accountants in row after each of them took many months and didn't get it finished come on so I was unable to get any of the cares act money And the people of the s b a were while they confused about what I did anyway because as a talent agent nobody in my part of the country has any idea what how to deal with that.moving forward, trying to keep the business of float during this time of hoping it would end soon I continue to pay the bills out of the remainder of my insurance settlement. By the beginning of 2022 the business had been shuddered and I was still struggling to get any help with my 2019 income taxes so that I could apply for whatever was left of the care's acts money, but it didn't happen.at the same time I had been paying off on my credit card monthly and keeping that credit score because I knew if I were not a money I could apply for some money and get good loans because my credit score was ridiculous And then I got a card from chase.a month after getting the card they locked my account because of a security issue, and spent Uber a month playing games with me before I could get it fixed.the day I was 30 days I was more than 30 days late, they let me lose but they reported me to the credit bureau's anyway.as a result I lost 75 points Well I was trying to get that fixed, all my other credit cards got updated on my new credit score and several decided to immediately reduce my limits by about half, which decimated my utilization rate and dropped my credit score another 100 points. So, you're following right? Wuthin one month, because of 1 payment late on 1 account that wasn't even my fault, I lost 175 points. This has created a domino effect that has continued for the last year while I have been fighting tooth & nail to get this fixed. Now my credit score is below 600, I still only have that 1 late payment, and I can't get any assistance from anywhere. i'm about to get evicted from both my office and my apartment, I'm totally out of money, and have no options. I've talked to lawyers accountants everybody I can think of and nobody is interested in working w me. So, I'm f***** as we speak and getting worse by the day. Thought that i'd share that lovely story with everybody since we're having so much fun. We don't have to bring up the fact that I am lost a few $1000 because of being ripped off by big companies that get away with it,we're getting screwed over by landlords who break leases and get away with it.it's a nightmare that is apparently in escapable oh,and in October I lost two of my vehicles in accidents that weren't my fault, and got ripped off on insurance settlements. They were some of my most valuable assets, and so on. I'm pretty well done, and about to let it all fall apart entirely, which is a crime, but what the hell, right? At this point, who the fuck cares?
