2022-05-11 13:32:07 +0000 UTCI'm non-binary and I grew up in one of those fun red states about to lose everything. Moved to fun blue NY. And I will say this: blue states are next. No matter how safe you feel right now, The neighbors are the same. The politicians are the same. The only difference between a red and blue state is how hard the average person has to work to get the same kind of rights. They come for the most vulnerable groups first, but fuck it escalates fast. And it isn't ending until it's so untenable even the people who wanted this won't recognize the end product. Because it's not about them having control: it's about everyone else having less.
