World blew up and radiation killed off most life except for a small population who had the opposite reaction to the rads and became super fertile. Now they fight to restore the world with new found powers and mutations, only hindered by labour pains brought about by their wellspring of fertility. I dunno, just letting my brain run wild I guess.
