To be honest, the fart joke thing is because it's shonen aimed at a teenage male audience. Shojo is what's aimed for a teenage female audience. Don't get me wrong everybody can like what they like but companies go after specific demographics. We do the same thing in America. Also Kuruo, is such a hateable character.
