2020-04-18 09:24:44 +0000 UTCFrom my understanding, the mark on his head seems to just be a scar he had as a child, and when he was injured during final selection (as we saw the bloodied bandage) perhaps the scar was cut open and left this new looking scar? It's probably explained in the manga, but they don't really ever mention it in the anime, so i can't be sure, and i'm too lazy to look it up to verify.

2020-04-18 02:42:16 +0000 UTCThis series still makes me think of Okami with the art style, and that is a compliment as Okami, especially the HD version is one of the most beautiful games ever created. It's overlooked because it came out at the very end of the PS2 life cycle, but its been remastered and you can get it on any system pretty cheap digitally. I've played it on several systems and even have it saved to my switch. Also the game is very based on Shinto beliefs, which honestly plays quite a bit into this series. I can see why so many like this series, it's different and refreshing while still paying homage it's predecessors.
