With the events of Andromeda Six taking place over 1000 years in the future, it's reasonable to assume that technology has had more than enough time to grow and evolve in both amazing and sometimes dangerous ways.

Alongside Humans, Kits and Tilaari, the Seleota System is also home to various types of artificial life, referred to as 'bots'.

Bots are often seen as lesser life-forms, despite many of them being of high intelligence and capabilities. While there are many different models throughout the System, we'll explore a few of the more common bots in this post.

Server-bots: The most common type of bot, and with the largest range available. Simple server-bots can be inexpensive and are often found working in shops, restaurants, and other types of service jobs. The technology these bots use is quite simple and straightforward, and while a waiter-bot in a restaurant will be able to tell you the daily specials and take your order well enough, it's unlikely they will be able to converse with you about anything more than that.

Moving along on the scale are bots with a higher degree of artificial intelligence, like maid-bots and nanny-bots, and are often found in the homes of people who can afford such a luxury. These bots are capable of more advanced tasks like cooking a meal, cleaning a home, and even caring for children and pets. They can be purchased as a factory default or can be crafted (for a price) to take on more of a 'human' look. This is an upgrade that is especially common for nanny bots.

Pleasure-bots: Throughout the Seleota System you'll find facilities catering to all kinds of human pleasures, most of which include various types of 'pleasure-bots'. Similar to server-bots, the more expensive pleasure-bots can be crafted to have a more realistic look and feel, while the basic range simply exist to fulfill the more... basic needs.

If you've got cash to burn you can also purchase A.I. upgrades for the higher grade models, taking them from a simple pleasure-bot to a life companion capable of establishing and sustaining a realistic, although somewhat emotionally lacking, relationship.

Vantage Tactical Bots (VTB's): VTB's were once commissioned by Orsanna's Guard for use in combat and for additional police and security support. As technology evolved, these bots were replaced quickly with new and updated models, with the older bots being used on the front line wherever chaos and turmoil would escalate.

These bot's A.I. evolved rapidly on its own, and soon enough the bots were decommissioned for use within the Guard, with most of them either being destroyed or sold for personal security use within households.

KY-L3: KY-L3, affectionately known by Nerissa as 'K' is a decommissioned VTB who was purchased by a talented robotics engineer after being released from his work with the Guard. The bot's entire A.I. system was replaced with the engineer's own life's work, giving him intelligence, emotions, and traits that match or even surpass that of a human male.

K's original owner passed away not long after this work was completed, and before it could be replicated in other models. This makes KY-L3 unique in the way that his personality and traits are more similar to a human than any other bot that has yet been created.
