I'm back🌿What happened in Valencia, Spain?
Added 2024-11-08 11:55:02 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful start of November✨ I wanted to come in here and give you guys an important update, as this past week has been really intense for me.
I've been missing here and on social media for about a week, as I needed to take a break in a sign of respect for what's happening in Valencia, Spain. It didn't feel right to continue posting like nothing was happening. It felt really personal (I'm explaining the situation at the end of this message).
I haven't shared much information about it, as I don't think I can do much to help with an account that is mainly international. But I feel like I need to continue my life, while helping with everything I can outside social media. It's us, the people from Spain, that can really help in this situation.
Defenitely, the Spanish community is devasteted with what is happening with our neightbours. I just wanted to let you know the reason why and let you know that, even though the situation didn't stop, I need to continue with my life.
So, I'm back💛
What happened in Valencia, Spain?
There's been a massive flood in some areas of Valencia, a city in Spain.
The country is divided in autonomous communities, similiar to the states in North America. With the difference that, here the states are not so independent from the Spanish state, the one that comprehends the whole country.
On the Valencian community, more specifically in some villages of Valencia (the city), there's been a massive flood that destroyed thousands of homes and that took so many lifes as well. It's a disaster, as so many people have lost everything. The worst part about this is the terrible work that the politicians have done. This could have been avolided, but specially, they could have helped a lot more than what they are helping now.
Now the whole country is really dedicated to the affected people, we are the ones that are really helping. Cleaning the impassable streets full of mud, sharing food and clothes to the people that can't even leave their homes, their destroyed homes. This is why we all are devastated, as we can't believe this is really happening. The situaiton is so bad...
The Valencian community is pretty close to mine, Catalonia, we share the same coast. But the flood definetely didn't arrive to my city, Barcelona, or even my community. The intense raining definetely arrived, but it didn't cause the same chaos.
Some people have been wondering if I'm okay, thinking that this happened in Barcelona (Catalonia) instead of the city of Valencia (Valenncian community). Nothing happened here and I'm completely fine. I just wanted to clarify that too.
With this, I hope I can help some people outside Spain to undertand what really happened. Thanks for reading and caring🌟

2024-11-08 12:25:49 +0000 UTCI just realized that you live in Spain. And I am worried about the terrible things that have happened and the pain you are feeling, even though we are far away. Because even in Japan, an island nation, we are sometimes devastated by natural disasters and feel powerless. But Japan has risen up again and again. I pray for everyone in Spain.
