Chapter 2

Danny is shocked to see Lily. “Lily…”

Lily begins to tear up then runs down the stairs to Danny, her blanket flying off. She leaps into Danny’s arms and he catches her, making him fall back. Lily hugs Danny tightly. He hugs back.

Danny: “Lily, what happened? What’re you doing here?”

Danny: “What happened?”

Lily starts to calm down. “M-my mom asked me where I was last weekend and I said I went to Andrea’s. But she called Andrea’s mom and she said I didn’t go there.” *Sniffle* “She asked me again and I couldn’t tell her about you, so she pushed me down and told me to leave.” Lily breaks into tears.

Danny is in shock: “Lily, I… I’m so sorry.”

Lily: “I never should have left. I missed you so much, I’m never leaving again! I wanna stay with you forever, because… I love you, Danny. I love you so, so much!”

Danny: “Lily-”

Lily looks down: “I know we can’t, but-”

Danny suddenly holds Lily’s cheek and brings her in for a kiss. She’s shocked at first but then embraces it. Danny backs out of the kiss.

Danny: “I love you too, Lily.”

Lily is in shock now.

Danny: “I never realized how miserable my life was without you. I don’t have many friends, I’m alone all the time, I’m stuck at a dead-end job… The truth is, that weekend with you was the happiest I’ve been in a long time. And I’d give anything to make you just as happy.”

Lily smiles and gives Danny a smooch. “Thank you, I’m happy just being here with you now.”

Danny smiles before they embrace in another kiss. Lily moves over to get above Danny’s lap. Danny holds Lily’s back to pull her in as Lily’s hands rest on his chest.
