Honestly, I think Metatron is gonna end up being a good ally. The way he runs his world is ruthless and brutal, but i think it's out of a cold efficiency, rather than cruelty.

Even a normal Demonic infestations was able to infect a God, and it was mentioned that the Gods of the spring infected by the Cardinal Devil were infected as well. I assume that means the full manifestation/incarnation of even a normal Demonic Infestation, if it exists, would be comparable to a God.

2025-12-16 21:36:55 +0000 UTCGiven they actively start rebelling as soon as he suppresses his blessing too far, at minimum it would be torturous to be beyond his normal soul limit. Plus, he would have to split off the Clone before he filled his capacity b/c the clones share his traits, so he would have to keep the clones long enough for him to heal the damage from absorbing a fiend. Zoris recommended a couple of months between absorbing fiends, and that was assuming you weren't trying to bypass capacity limits.

He keeps breaking off pieces of his soul and then having them come back after the "wound" is healed. It then stands to reason that his soul is constantly getting denser with every clone that returns.

On Ludwig’s world, the infestation made sure to get rid of their source of advancement first, and then their gods. Perhaps infected people don’t know they’re infected? In which case, that might unfortunately explain why Machaon was so willing to take such risks with Renoir’s only source of advancement.
