Having a HARD Time - Episode 1 - Released!

Today marks the release of the first episode for Having a HARD Time!

The first episode functions as an introduction to the world and characters of the game. It is the beginning of a new adventure, one which I very much look forward to fully fleshing out and I hope all of you will be able to enjoy!

Please be aware that this is an adult visual novel, meant to be played by adults only.

This episode is available for free, but it takes a lot of time and effort to create, so if you enjoyed it and would like to see more I would very much appreciate your contribution!

You can download the first episode here:

Hi, glad you like the game. Those idols start appearing from the moment you first visit the University. Good luck finding them! If you ever need help you can try asking others on the Discord channel or check out the official walkthrough which is available for certain Patron tiers.

Hello there. I have downloaded the first version. It is a nice game and I like it. But I have the same issue as ahmad as I try to find the idols in the game. From which point do they appear or have to look for it? I want all the secret scenes unlocked.

By the way, I will be creating a discord server once episode 2 is a bit closer to release.

In order to unlock the secret scenes you need to find and click on all the 'idols' in the game. They look like the one on the right side of this screen: https://i.imgur.com/4YT5fYN.png Although it's only highlighted green when you hover over it.

cause no discord i cant ask simple question . how do you unlock the secret

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback and am glad to see you enjoyed it. I've already made a few animations for the second episode that I feel a lot better about than the ones in the first episode. So you can certainly expect some improvement in that area (though to be honest animating still remains a pain in the ass :D )

Quadruple-Q

Just finished the first episode! Here's my two cents on it: First: there were a few typos here and there (nothing much, nothing serious), and as other people have said the animations were perhaps the weakest part of the whole game. I think the main issue was that they were all yo-yos. Some animations were actually quite alright (like the one of Jake ehm... "engaging" with Hannah) but the constant back and forth yo-yo style absolutely ruined them, and the immersion as well. Having them loop straight instead of yo-yo would help tremendously. Also, some renders and poses here and there looked a bit uncanny (especially hands in some specific scenarios, such as when Jane was angry towards Anna at the beginning and pointed towards her with an open hand. Like, who does that?) but nothing that can't be fixed. Other than that, you did an absolutely stellar job here. Camera work was exceptional, with a clever use of focus and angles. Renders were (for the most part) brilliantly put together, with some incredible highlights. And most importantly, they felt closely tied to the dialogue and responded dynamically to most lines which felt really natural. Dialogue was really, really well written, structured very well and unexpectedly funny as hell. I was laughing my ass off in more than one occasion, even on little, hidden things (Like "rudely" skipping the tutorials, or... like, *Jane Doe*?? really?!). Not only that, even all the little details like the Eternipound profile description for EACH character (...."sup"), it all made it feel particularly curated and lovingly handcrafted. Not to mention the UI! A lot of work has been put into it and it shows. The interactive character screens, the (finally) non-default-renpy choices, the non-invasive text for dialogues that don't cover up half the screen for once. It was all very much appreciated. The music was also quite alright, and did it's job at setting the mood (...altho it varied a LOT in volumes, like the track when first entering the school, holy damn it was LOUD as hell). SFXs were also frequent enough to enhance the experience but not so much as to become distracting or annoying. Honestly tho the biggest thing for me was the *incredible* amount of content for a first release. So many scenes, so many dialogues and choices, so many characters (perhaps even too many). Makes me feel incredibly hopeful for what the final game will shape up to be. All in all, a really great experience and one that I am really looking forward to see and play more of. Really curious as to how and how much we'll be able to progress with each character, and my eyes are sparkling in excitement at the numerous possibilities. Take your time with development and don't burn yourself out! We'll happily await for more content like this. Cheers!

Thanks for the kind words! And I agree, when it comes to animating I still have a lot of learning to do. It's one of the tougher things to do right, but I do feel like I'm slowly getting better at it.

I found the first episode on the net, yesterday evening; and immediately thought to become a patreon because such an effort deserves a bit of support. I really think I found the adult game of my life. Slow burning, with humor, with a lot of characters and choiches. Really one of the best I ever found out there. It is difficult to find something to be improved, but if I can give my suggestion, some animations are a bit too fast. Slowing them down would add a bit of sensuality (for example the one with the breast groping on the sofa between MC and Nanny). Anyway keep up with your exellent work, we really need this sort of hig quality games to unwind in our spare time.
