Special Delivery v0.2.1 Development WIPs - April 2024

Hey all!
Moving forward I'd like to both organize my WIPs a bit better and make them slightly more pointed / interesting, so for this first month of new developments for chapter 2, I've pooled together a little sample of all the things I've been rotating between working on lately <3

First up, I'm re-rendering Crelli's sprites with her new and much improved model :3 since the rigs are completely different between the old and new, all of these are re-posed from scratch, so it's just a matter of finesse to get the expressions to match back up, but I'm much happier with the new look. As of this morning, I finished re-doing the last of these, so Crelli will have her fresh look for all content going forward!

I'm also doing a fair bit of scene work atm, and have been getting renders made for backgrounds for chapter 2's introduction. Some of these are easy; the Anisthia backdrops really don't take much since the ship is already modelled, but new big locations are certainly a time-sink. I'm focusing on Sientha at the moment, and it's coming together slowly but surely ^^ thankfully Sientha is one of only 2 big settlements SD will visit, the rest will be smaller and much less densely built, so fingers crossed the build times remain manageable <3

I've also just about finished a little intro animation to the new chapter <3 it's still waiting for rendering, but it's one half of a little cutscene intro I've had planned for some time. I'm going to try my best to reach out to a VA to get just a little bit of life into the piece via audio, but I'm completely new to cooperating with voice talents, so it's a bit daunting Dx we will see how it goes at least, but the animation portion is finished for now <3

Lastly, I've just about finished rigging and refining the last major character needed for chapter 2! She's got some shading kinks to iron out, and ofc she will need some clothes and attire, but she's well on her way to being ready for her debut in the game. Our first elven character ^^ I won't spoil her role, or even her name just yet, you can at least get a sneak peak at one of the major players of SD's story <3
