My thoughts on the mana matter was that it was implied to never actually have been done before. The book Makoto was reading was like a theory book (or so the dialogue in the show had me believe) so I dont think anyone has ever done it before. Like how someone can theorize the use of worm-holes for space travel lol The book he was reading was simply saying if someone had enough mana they could theoretically materialize it to a physical form. It would make sense for Shiki to know what he was doing, as its just the type of magical theory that would be right up his alley. Given Shiki's expression, he clearly didnt think it was actually possible though xD

2025-04-06 11:03:40 +0000 UTC30:30- Non-spoiler explanation for mana matter is that normally when he releases his mana he doesn't really control it so it dissipates like hot air blowing things back but with enough control and his kai he's able to compress into a solid/liquid-y form. Because his mana is on the outside that way he's able to cast spells much faster since he doesn't have to move his mana outside his body in that state.

At 18:20 when he was talking about the mana matter he was talking about the stronger you hit it, the stronger it is, and if you touch it gently It reminds like liquid that reminds me of the Bruce Lee sayings.

And how you know he could do something with them I know you watch a lot of anime. So I don't know, you remember, but when he shot that arrow at the end of season one he also used his rings and made the lake. And also I am so hype for shiki he is awesome
