It was explained that if no one remembers you, and you don't remember yourself, you end up just a sleeping flesh bag, no consciousness. Crusch has no idea who tf she is, but no one else forgot her. Juli remembers everything he is, but no one remembers him.

2025-03-26 23:19:02 +0000 UTCI got a theory, a bit out there. I think Al might be Subaru, a different timeline one. A timeline that went so bad that he couldn't reset it with his ability, and found an alternate way to travel back in the past. I don't have any solid evidence. Just the way he talks to Beatrice and Emilia, so familiarly, like he's known them for a while. He also has moments where he acts goofy or says something silly like Subaru does. In his fight against Lust he makes the comment that "death hurts the first time you experience it". Who else besides Subaru and maybe Reinhard could make such a statement. His refusal to show his face is also sus. After this season I might dive into the light novels and see if there is anymore clues, but for now it's just some crazy theory of mine.

2025-03-26 22:24:37 +0000 UTCIt looks like Gluttony only took Julius' name but not his memories. The difference was given to us by Puck in Season 2 Episode 1. Gluttony can eat your name - removing your existence from the world so everyone doesn't know who you are. He can also take your memories - which is self explanatory that you are left with no idea who you are. That's what happened to Crusch. If both are taken, you are an empty shell which is what happened to Rem and why she is still "sleeping." Rem - name and memories taken (sleeping) Crusch - memories taken Julius - name taken We don't know why Gluttony chooses to do different things for each person.
