More hardware updates - hello, 2020!
Added 2020-11-28 14:30:08 +0000 UTCHey all! Just a quick update for this weekend: The new laptop is working well so far, which is great! But this morning, I woke up early and recorded Monday's audio, and went I went to edit it, there was crackling. Lots of crackling. It was there with all headsets and with the laptop speakers. It was there with every test audio I recorded with my Rode mic, regardless of what format I recorded in, what USB port I used, etc. It was NOT there, however, when I recorded a test audio with my onboard laptop mic. So... I think the Rode mic has finally given up on me. It's been my mic for over a year and it's been a good partner on this journey, but it may be time to lay it to rest.
I've ordered a new mic and it'll arrive later today (yay), but Monday's audio may not be as early for the early access peeps as it should be, and I apologize for that. It'll be ready tomorrow, assuming I can get the new mic set up and recording tonight. Going forward, I hope it makes for even better audios for you! It's got some functionality the old one didn't have, so with luck, it'll be a great purchase and the audios will be better overall. Fingers crossed, anyway!
So... yeah! That's it. Just another reminder that 2020 isn't quite over yet, and if there's anything in my life that is still waiting to break, I hope it does so quickly so I can replace it and move on. :) Thanks, as always, for all your support!
