Karlach painting contest results

Hey guys! Every time I think that the previous contests were difficult to choose the winners and every time you surprise me.

This time after the start of the contest we agreed with Sister of Claudia that she will help with the determination of the winner (her Instagram) and I want to say a huge thank you to her for a detailed analysis of all participants, she noticed micro nuances that I could not immediately see.

This time, as already stated, there are three winners, although in my opinion there could be more, as there are many works that are made great, but they lacked some little things if you start to consider in detail. There are 4 additional awards this time, and again I would like to expand this list.

Let's move on to the winners:

1. DorkMachinations - 300 $ This work seemed to us the most elaborated in details, perfectly selected colors, drawn light-shadows and complex it looks great. There are some small disadvantages, but for some reason we want to give the first place to it.

2. ponnie - 200$ There were some arguments about this work, as this face should definitely take the first place, but if you look not only at it (although it's hard to tear yourself away), you notice how the stand is "separated" from the character and maybe there was not enough time to finish the axe and add highlights to it. Also amazing work

3. Daeris - 100$ The skin tone, the glare on the metal, the clothes, the face, the hair are all great! But in my opinion overdid it with the lava glow, it's done as if a bit "sloppy" (I don't want to say it's terrible, I could never do that), it's just that if you compare it to other works on the general background, it's a very contrasting and bright point of attraction that distracts from the character

As for additional awards:

1. dronehz - 25 $ This piece (as well as the next one) lacked work in some minor details when looking at it in detail, but it is just as stunningly done!

2. CollicuttBROS - 25 $ One more work which claimed for the third place and I would like to give it an additional award (to be honest, there were two more candidates for the third place, but for some reason I wanted to mark these)

3. Niki Ealdwine-Gray - 25 $ CIGAR GLOWS OMG!!! In all seriousness I was originally planning on giving an extra award to the person who did the interior lighting, but I didn't realize there would be more than one or two people like that, so I decided to give it to this participant, since in addition to the extra lighted stand he wired up the cigar and it looks awesome without the main lighting.

4. SephTheOverwitch - 25 $ This contestant also did the interior lighting, but the award is not for that. It's for creativity. Look at this night photo, the smoke in it looks awesome!

As I said before there were a lot of cool and good works that didn't make it here and these contests are primarily done to make it interesting for you to paint models and watch others do it. Thank you all for participating, you're awesome!

Just as in past contests, all participants can pick any of the old models of their choice and I'll send it to you.
