Why so aggressive Hazel? Pero isn't ignorant, VAM is a sandbox right now, not a game.

I went to check the VAM Hub and I was able to download quite a few useful plugins and assets but the site needs some heavy work on sorting out content. I really hope VAM starts to separate and sort content like virtually all porn related sites do. I'm referring to the "futa", "futanari", cross-dresser content you have on the front page; homosexual content should be sorted in it's own category and be optional to see it or not. You're repelling users by bulking up everything in a single place.

Hub moderator here. Creators *are* required to make sure content that is supposed to be free actually is. But we don't have the time to actually verify that each submission actually is where it is supposed to be.
So we depend on user reports. At the bottom of each post, there is a "report" button. If you report pay walled content located in the free section, we'll fix it. Creators that consistently, violate the rules will face consequences.

Hello, where can I find Looks and scenes from header photo in VaM twitter page?
(If it possible, write me links please)

A few thoughts on trying to use the hub in-game, and general...
1. The UI is abysmal, especially in desktop mode. It's super hard to read.
2. Needs more restriction on links. If downloads are marked as "free", creators should be *required* to ensure that they links are actually free. I've spent a lot of time trying to download stuff listed as "free", only to have to be bounced to reddit, then to a patreon, only to find out that it's *actually* paywalled. Not the fault of Meshed VR...but some way of standardizing everything would be great.
3. Really need to be able to cache credentials and stuff. Having to sign in to reddit every launch of the app is a PITA!
Don't get me wrong...the hub is still a *great* idea. It just needs a bit more oversight to ensure that it works as advertised.

Damn good work on this program/sim/concept game. The full body tracking works great with vive trackers (if a bit difficult to setup every load). Var files are a nice update. Might buy more ram, saw 11.5gb of vgpu ram and 31gb of system ram used on a large load the other day. Looking forward to v2.0, I heard it might have mult CPU core support/use? :)

You are ignorant Pero. Perhaps you should invest in a more profitable VR experience on Steam or elsewhere.

This is a longer-term goal, but a rework is currently going on that is needed first. Be patient or come back in a year or two. This stuff takes time or you'll have some shallow crap for a game. Think a holodeck.. where you can have all kinds of different things you can do with it. The tech comes first.

Easy mate - it’s like player for VaM -choose girl, choose scene, see scene, repeat. I meant another - create game, where player has freedom of action - beside watching, he can participate in it, interact with girls.

Google and download and add "Easy Mate IV + patch", simple user friendly IU with lots of content. Simple install (he links to instructions).

It can be another version of the game: “VaM naughty room” or “VaM naughty sandbox” , for example.

Will you make VaM like a game for common people, wider audience? ( Without a lot of “developer’s tools”, settings and with user friendly interface. The game like sandbox) I think it will be very popular and profitable. I was really surprised when I saw beautiful girls in VaM and was very disappointed when I knew that VaM is not a game(((. It’s not playable(((

Hi, I'm a new patron and I'm loving what this can do. I'm wondering if you can give me a nudge in the right direction to raise my fps. I've read a few posts but nothing i've tried has made much difference. Some scenes drop to around 30 and i'd say the average is around 45. I've got a decent rig and I expected better performance, are you able to give a patron a bit of a hand?

If the file you download is a VAR file, it needs to be placed into AddonPackages. If it is a VAC file, you place it into Saves/scenes and then open it like a scene. If it is something else (zip, rar, just files) you will need to follow the instructions from the creator. If you use in-game browser to download a VAR file, it will install it for you. 1.20 will have even better integration with Hub and make things easier. We are trying to move everyone to VAR files for this reason because it makes install and uninstall of the content much easier.

New Member and not so savy. Similar question. Does all of the content downloaded from VaM Hub need to be added into Addonpackage folder or? As in clothes ,hair and models. Let me know if there's a Hub download tutorial somewhere.

On the Resources page on the Hub, click on a scene resource. You should either see a Download button at top right or Go To Web Site button. For ones with download, it should just start downloading. If the file has a .var extension, then you simply place this file into AddonPackages folder in VaM. Then go to Open Scene and you should see the name of the VAR on the left of the browser. Click it, and then it should show these scenes that were contained in that var file. From there you can select and VaM will open it.

This is probably a very silly question, but how do I actually download the custom scenes? And use them in VAM?

1.20 is adding full integration. For now you can open the online scene browser in VaM, and the copy/paste the hub url in there. If you download a VAR from the hub (or anywhere), VaM will install it for you and alert you when the content is ready. If the VAR contains a scene, it will open the 1st one it finds in the VAR.

This isn't something I can improve. var files are essentially zip files, so whenever you use something from it, it has to be decompressed at runtime. The amount of time depends on what type and speed of the drive (SSD, etc.) and also your computer's processing power. I have included an Unpack option (found in Package Manager) to allow you to choose to speed up var files that are problematic for you in this regard.

I've been wondering if the var system will ever get any more efficient. Right now loading textures from a var is significantly slower than loading textures from the atom root folder. TBH I've been extracting all of the var packages that have large assets or textures.

One thing we tried to address with the newer VAR addon system is to make it simpler to install content, regardless of what type of content it is (scenes, clothing, hair, etc.). VAR files can just be dropped into AddonPackages folder and then content is immediately usable in VaM. But some older scenes and content is still delivered in zip form. Depending on what is in the zip or how the zip is organized, it might require figuring out where to place files. Most content providers provide some instruction or even mirror the VaM folder structure in the zip. Contents must always be put into the VaM folder itself. You won't be able to open most content if it is outside of the main folder.

The virt a mate wiki has some good information and tutorials about this. https://www.reddit.com/r/VirtAMate/wiki/index. I normally download the zip, extract to that same folder and drag and drop the contents to the VAM folder. For instance, if within the zip folder, there is a folder called 'saves', just copy that folder to the VAM folder where 'saves' is and it will copy the contents to the saves folder. Then do that for all folder contents in that zip file. Once in VAM you can open the scene from there.

I'm seeing someone made some instructional videos for VaM, which is awesome! Not sure if my answer is in there or not but I'm starting to find some helpful resources now. Fingers crossed 🤞

I'm VERY new to all this (Became a supporter a couple days to this, got my first PC a month ago, my first VR headset a week after that so I mean new to ALL of this lol) so please forgive me if the answer is obvious. I'm having difficulty downloading a scene and opening it up in VaM. I figured I just needed to download the zip for the scene and extract it somewhere in the saves folder. When I go into VaM I see the associated folder however when I click on it, it's empty. How would I go about downloading and opening these scenes and such? Or is there information to do this that I missed that someone can link me to?
