NICE! Patbingsu is probably my favorite kpop song of all time. A sung recipe for shaved ice with red bean sauce along with a wonderful melody. I was so happy to hear just a little bit of it at their last tour in Germany. I can also highly recommend the original by Yoon Jong Shin, which by the way is from 2001, along with Highway Romance. Billlie also has some live performances of these two songs with their boss. Hoping for more Billlie in the future, e.g. their covers of ISTJ & Kick It, the jap. song Domino, the single January 0th ( a hope song) & Moon Sua's cover of Small Girl with one of the ASTRO members.

Very cool you listened to Soul Savior, definitely got a little overshadowed as a digital release (and during Moon Sua and Suhyeon's hiatus on top of that), but it's one of my absolute favorites. Definitely car-stereo-approved! Speaking of bass-y tracks there is one major track left, the phenomenal Japanese release DOMINO (with a full MV, too!) but we might be pushing our luck asking for that 😂. I just hope you can enjoy it in any case! Without spoiling too much it's also definitely a fun, very Billlie-esque ride and very bass-boost friendly :-) And just a bit of trivia-- every fake "commercial" that makes up the Patbingsu MV is heavily based on a real Korean tv ad from the 90s or very early 2000s (the song itself is a very updated cover of their CEO, Yoon Jong-shin's song, also originally titled Patbingsu, from maybe 30 years ago). And fun fact-- this Billlie MV gave the kpop world the "cherry peace" hand gesture where you make a V with your fingers and put it on top of your head like a cherry stem. (I seriously impressed my younger niece by knowing this haha)

2025-01-30 02:49:37 +0000 UTCThanks for reacting to this. About Patbingsu, it's a Korean shaved ice dessert. Much of the lyrics are the recipe of how to make it. Their producer Peacedelic Han does excellent work. His earlier stuff was with Girls In The Park (GWSN), who have a similar sound to Billie. Lots of instruments, grooves and jazzy changeups.
