2023-09-15 13:16:29 +0000 UTCThe only question I remember since I couldn't watch this all at once is the thing about the "girlfriend" staying the night. So the dad's comment was just about how it's a bit taboo for a girl to stay the night in her boyfriend's house and people will look badly on her. I think it's just a bit of the more conservative mindset coming through in the script and that's it.
