Play to Find Out, S3E2: What Do Nobilis Do?

Our season playing Jenna K. Moran's Nobilis CONTINUES! In what is becoming a PTFO trope, Rob and Emily had to do some work to unlock their (bizarre) character sheets, but this episode starts with them receiving them. And then wishing they had't.

You'll find those character sheets in our trove of Patreon-exclusive files, along with a fan-made cheat sheet that I learned about too late to help Emily & Rob, but might help you! It's called "So You've Been EnNobled".

As a teaser, this episode of the show is all about my players getting to grips with the question of what it means to be a god. You'll be delighted to know that Rob's answer involves being frustrated, and Emily's answer involves writing smut. Lots of smut.

As always, if you're not sure how to get access to your personal Quinns Quest Patreon podcast RSS feed, you can find instructions right here. I recently updated it so if you search my Patreon you should now find three different feeds- one for interviews, one for PTFO, and one feed that combines both.

Enjoy, everybody. GODSPEED.

I know I am late to this, but I already love to see how diffrent people interpret stuff diffrently. For example Rob/Roads adversion to watertravel is really intereresting to me, since I love sailing and spend a lot of time in the netherlands I would totaly include waterways in my concept of roads. When you discussed the right word for roads I had to think of "way", as in the way home, which totally includes travel by air, land and sea. And Emily just impersonates Rest so perfectly, even when distressed I feelt a great calm in every scene with her. Great work all around

Leon Peulings

The fact that Rest finds humans petty and foolish for failing to understand one another's perspectives suggests to me that perhaps she isn't so far above them after all.

MM!!

I listened to this while resting, after a days long travel by car, and weeks without a break. I could feel my muscles unknit as the scenes with Rest continued. This is so good. Thank you.

I don't have anything profound to add. This is just great stuff.

Blown away by how good this is

God, what a beautiful episode. The music is just phenomenal! Roads' introduction is impressively cool and dramatic, and Rest's introduction legitimately made me cry as I worked on a large lego set during a very very rainy day. Just beautiful work here, y'all!

I like to compare Road’s sensation of paths (trails and roads) to the circulatory system of his body. In the same way the blood vessels facilitate the transportation of oxygen rich blood around his body, giving him the energy to live, paths facilitate the transportation of beings from where they are, to where they need to be, bringing Roads life.

Alex Catto

Scoring a path into the universe, doom scrolling as heresy.. damn you are all so good!

Agree with these comments! I have a feeling no one anticipated just how absorbing and engaging Nobilis is in practice over it's presentation on paper. Quinns has the hardest road ahead with no rest in sight! But I feel if anyone can, he is the hollyhock God for the job.
