Where can we watch if we missed this hang?

Following up on what was asked, the Avatar tLAb rpg game with the little guys was a GREAT time. We went with a custom setting in the nebulous "generations ago" so the kids could have a stronger say in what the world is like in their time. The 7-year-old stuck with a waterbender, whose highest stat was Focus and the kid made that his whole "thing". His character never blinks (because they are so focused) and uses waterbending to keep his eyes moistened. The 9-year-old ended up creating a jovial Fire Nation military officer. He has no sense of "The Three Musketeers" or those sorts of stories but seems to have independently come up with a G-rated take on a Alexandre Dumas style character.

I totally agree about diversifying your table. Even as a cis, white, male I am almost exclusively interested in exploring stories that focus on complicated emotional lives of characters. For the first time I have a table mostly full of women, some of them queer, and I just feel absolutely unleashed. I can let half a game session linger on a scene where the characters are all unpacking the results of some dangerous adventuring together and I'm just sitting back and (often literally) sipping tea and reveling.

I picked up Burning Empires years ago (because I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to RPGs) and I've yet to give it a proper flick through. It sounds like something worth giving a go!

Damn so sad I missed this! I’m curious if you’ve ever attempted Burning Wheel, Quinns. I remember reading a text review on SUSD’s site and you and Matt talking about Torchbearer is what originally got me into the burning wheel family of games. I just recently completed two different campaigns, one of which I GM’d, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever played before. It’s such an electrifying experience as a player.

I'll bite, and I'm curious, about your therapy journey. I went through a bad patch a few years ago and I ended up seeing a therapist for a couple of years. It was well worth my time and money and I feel much better for it!

I successfully pitched Wildsea to my friends and anticipate GMing our experience with this system! I'm wondering how best to approach the low prep, improvisational nature of games like Wildsea and BitD, while still maintaining a solid narrative arc for PCs and the campaign as a whole

Across everything you’ve ever written I’d love to know what you think is your current ‘magnum opus’?

How do you balance the desire to provide a cool experience and story for your players and the need to make sure they feel included and instrumental in that story rather than just observers of your personal narrative? I have been running a campaign for about 5 years now, and things are building up to some major plot reveals and twists and turns, but I'm scared of going so far up my own behind with feeling I've written a clever story that I'll manage to ruin any enjoyment for my players. The as-yet semi-hidden BBEG is both a patron to one of the players and a representation of a pretty meta and existential threat, and I am wondering if it would just be better if they had a cool fight with a tarrasque. I know the answer will likely boil down to "depends on your players", but I am curious if you struggle with these same questions and how you go about finding an answer. Thank you so much for all of your amazing work!

Ever since I became obsessed with ttRPGs a year ago I started seeing everything as RPGs. I would try to turn my board games into bases for ttRPGs. I failed 100%, but I wonder if you do the same with your board game collection, or other sources of fiction, such as novels, or shows/movies, games, etc.

So excited! Amazing that you pulled some strings and had the discovery channel give you a live show!!
