Brothers and Sisters and Siblings,
Happy October. The days here in Tokyo are finally cooling off, and even though it's a bit gray and drizzly at the moment, I am so ready for the fall. I had a thorough clean of my apartment, and now I'm thinking about getting a room fragrance or some scented candles because I'm all out, so if you have any brands to recommend, let me know here or on Discord.
As I mentioned last week, I took it easy with development this week to recharge; even so, I did some good work and I'm very happy with the results. It's a funny thing: before this year, it had been a while since I had felt truly creative in such a consistent way, and one thing I've noticed now is that I find myself wanting to work creatively more after a few hours of consuming content. Which is making me think that creativity is just a habit you form, rather than some deep state of being. So, to everyone who has wanted to get started on some creative project, just dive in, even if life isn't perfect at the moment. It's gonna be a bit rough at first, but soon enough, it will become second nature and you'll start wanting it more. Just like bottoming!
What I did this week:
Worked on adding things to 0.3.0 for the Scribe release next week.
Added a few more CGs.
Added a full scene (with optional NSFW elements).
Fixed bugs and inconsistencies.
What I'm planning to do next week:
Work on 0.3.1 (coming end of October)!
I'm planning to do 5 scenes: 1 common for all playthroughs and 4 that branch out at the end of Mountainsday.
Write and animate the core scenes for Tidesday.
Add assets and code new variants of existing puzzles for the class minigames (while some are randomized and future proof, some need my manual input).
If I have time: Start work on Chapter 3's optional scenes. Since these can be selected on more than one day, it's just a matter of inspiration which one I choose to do first and add to which update.
Have a lovely week, and to whoever has been drawing in chalk in the carrels: please stop. The carrels are a place of worship, not frivolity. Thank you!
