We’ve shot for 6 years and this was a new development and I think it’s pretty bold and cool, very different than when when it is, say, Maria who I have shot nude since the day we met and had seen her nude work for uears before I met her.
The July zine of Sawyer’s recent film work will be going out this week, slight delay as I had yet to develop all the film 😵💫😵💫😵💫 - I’ll be in touch w those who have it coming to see if digital or print is a preference!
Just caught up after 4 back-to-back shoots + weekend with my son! Hit a Collider screening at Netflix HQ for Love Death + Robots with creators Tim Miller & Jen Yuh Nelson, then our first Academy Museum visit for the Bong Joon-Ho exhibit.
Wild coincidence - stumbled on the original Shape of Water creature there, which is perfect since it's a huge part of my Guillermo: Tapestry film. Also discovered the museum's FREE for CA EBT holders 🤣 so I'm already back planning more director/showrunner screenings - Arcane, Naked Lunch, Toy Story lined up.
John Waters nailed it in that commencement speech: creatives gotta participate in the field they want to join. So that's the plan - meet directors, animators, ask questions, shake hands. Make it real.
