Hello patrons! I'm sure most if not all of you are ready to move on to a new year.
Besides general pandemic and election related mayhem, I personally went through a breakup/ divorce from a 20 year relationship, a big falling out with my main model friend and basic distancing with many of the others, and my car has been in the shop for over 2 months with $4k put into the repairs when they finally told me it's not gonna get fixed at all. So, currently car-less and relationship-less, and trying to change my job to a high school across the street from my apartment to accommodate some of these issues.
That said, I'm grateful for
-my day job at a high school with kids keep my sanity
-the end of Trump's 4 year shitstorm
-the new people I got to meet and establish creative relationships with, particularly the Ohio crew
-getting through the very very long breakup and having my own identity
-my new chameleon pet Sacha who is adorable
-everyone who supports my work
-Etsy which is now my main source of income
-the fact that neither I nor anyone in my family had any health issues in a time when it was so common
The above photo is of a magazine I just made of my Pop Art series, a direct result of not being able to do screen printing which I wanted to do a lot of this year, but having access to copy machines to get a similarly pop poster aesthetic. The "Primordial Creative POP" magazine is one of several projects I've been spending my December down time on. A lot of the world goes into reflection mode, like "here's what happened this year" and I fucking hate that shit. There are no reverse gears on my tank, as much as I wrote updating the recent goings ons at the start of this entry, time is better spent on new projects or wrapping up existing ones.
The POP Magazine is available on my Etsy shop, and it's beautiful. I had a few copies of zines left that I'm putting up there as well.
Meanwhile, getting back on the YouTube horse that I drifted from, and opening an additional Etsy shop devoted to Folk Art pieces that I've collected mixed in with my own ceramics. Putting the finishing touches on a new Primordial Creative album and setting up a trip to Boston in a couple months barring a pandemic lockdown. No reverse gear on this tank!
Happy New Year!
