The September 2018 Spotify Playlist
Added 2018-09-19 21:00:02 +0000 UTCThis month I have the pleasure of seeing Loudon Wainwright the third live at Phoenix's Musical Instrument Museum- thus many of Loudon's tracks made their way into the playlist.
Also represented are a Japanese band, Luby Sparks, who licensed a couple of my images of Annika White for their next album cover!
There's a few nods to 80s music this time round, in synth wave acts CHVRCHES and Electric Youth, as well as actual 80s act the B-52's and Queen's "Radio Gaga". I just had a call from my stock music site for more faux retro 80s music so I stuck a big toe in that genre this month.
The rest of the mix is a hodge podge, with more aggressive energetic stuff (Superchunk, Ministry, Jim Bob and Jesus Jones) mixed with laconic sounds from Mike Nesmith, Nightmares on Wax, Sinead O'Connor and others. I've felt a bit frustrated with the inability to do much art and travel due to the full time job, as well as the usual impotent rage against Trump, but between midterms and October's promise of freedom and back to being a full-time artist I'm able to shut the fuck up and chill out until things improve.
