Welcome back Fellow Darkish!
The swamp twists around you like something alive—roots shifting underfoot, spores drifting in the air.
And just for a moment, you swear the mud exhales… as if the ground itself is waiting for prey to wander closer.

MAP DESCRIPTION
A thick wave of humidity wraps around you the moment you enter the clearing.
The ground is soft and swampy, almost giving way beneath your steps, turning every movement heavy for anyone reckless enough to venture inside.
Twisted trunks and massive roots form a natural maze, weaving between yellowish pools and muddy channels.
Clusters of violet fungi and half-buried bones peek through the vegetation — clear signs this swamp is anything but empty.
At the center, two large pits lie half-open, filled with remains and smooth, polished bones.
Are they the remains of a ritual… or the nesting grounds of something that preys on the unwary?
Welcome to Wild Swamp.
And remember: nothing that grows here is truly harmless.
NOTES
Map Style & Tactics: Wild Swamp is perfect for ambushes, creatures that thrive in difficult terrain, and fast, dynamic encounters. Hidden routes between roots and pools force the party into controlled movements.
The Roots: Excellent for blocking, grabbing, or slowing characters. They create choke points and allow enemies to manipulate movement.
The Yellowish Pools: The murky water may hide monsters or inflict negative effects due to the poisonous plants growing within and around it.
The Fungi: The violet mushrooms may release irritating, blinding, or charming spores—or grant beneficial effects to brave adventurers who dare to taste them. Local creatures might also be influenced: temporary buffs, resistances, or immunity to poison.
The Large Pit: A dangerous nest, a place to start a side quest, or a source of clues for those willing to dig through the bones. A second, smaller pit sits among the trees on the right side of the map.
Narrow Paths: The roots create obstructed lines of sight and long, forced routes—perfect for predicting the party’s movements and planning clever ambushes.
The Grand Trees: They tower over the area, offering elevation, shade, and hiding spots for agile creatures like spiders, insects, or predators waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Connections: This zone connects directly to the north-west side of Elder Ruin Swamp, allowing parties to progress naturally from that map or enter this one from an alternate route.

With Wild Swamp, we continue our journey into the most living — and most dangerous — marshlands of our world.
No human traces here: only raw, unpredictable nature.
Toxic plants, murky waters, and lurking creatures stand between the party and the continuation of their adventure.
Every step is a risk, and every root may hide something waiting to strike.
