MAP DESCRIPTION
This level of the structure is composed of a maze of rooms, scattered with traps and treasures in equal measure.
Silence and darkness reign in this enormous tomb, and the flicker of fire casts eerie shadows.
As you advance along the central nave, you will approach the Pharaoh's Burial Chamber, where the pharaoh and all his immense wealth lie.
The Chamber is blocked by a heavy and thick wall, and the key to open it, two halves of a scarab to be set on the passage, are hidden in the Dungeon's meanders.
Exploring the ancient halls and corridors of the Dungeon, sarcophagi and treasures shine silently.
Ancient bloodstains, now faded and hidden by sand, would suggest to the most astute not to take anything that does not belong to them.
What will happen to those who foolishly try to steal something?
NOTES
- We have thought a lot about playability in this map. The wide spaces allow for interesting battles, and traps add an extra level of difficulty. We have imagined many different possible uses for this map, and we hope it inspires you just as much.
- Depending on how many and which monsters you want to defend the treasures, information or keys that the party might want to obtain in this map, there are truly an infinite number of possible combinations. The sarcophagi could all open if you try to force your way into the Pharaoh's Halls, or only those in one room or on one side could open if something is stolen.
- The door that closes off the Pharaoh's Hall can be opened by inserting into the scarab the two corresponding halves that we imagined hidden in the Dungeon. We have placed some chests to give the party objectives already arranged on the map, but nothing prevents the party from having to defeat enemies to obtain the two halves, or that they are hidden in sarcophagi or other places.
The choice is yours. - In the central nave there are four sphinxes. We thought it would be interesting to animate them and have them propose one or more riddles to the Party. They could also attack if the party refuses to be tested or if they try to pass in case of failure of the test.
- The Treasure has more than one function. In addition to being a possible generous reward, it could be cursed, and therefore useless to the party - indeed, if they took it anyway it could turn out to be a big problem - or it could have been what whoever gave you the information to get there has commissioned you to recover, and therefore only a small part would go to the party. We tried to leave as much interpretive freedom as possible. We are really curious to know how you will use these great riches in your story.
- The Scribe's Room, on the left of the entrance, is a small room where you will find some scrolls. A convenient excuse for Masters to give, if they wish, some information to the Party about who is buried in the Pyramid or how to open the Hall.
We hope you like this new Map, and that we have fully satisfied your desire for a Dungeon in a pyramid that you expressed in August Poll xD
It took us a while, but we wanted to give this beautiful theme enough space so that it can be played at its best!
From next month we will start again with the Poll and we can't wait to find out what other ideas you will make us realize!
As usual, we invite you to leave us feedback and tell us how you used this or other of our maps! We are always very curious to discover the adventures you experience in the places we design!
We'll see you soon with the next map and we wish you great adventures and NAT20!
