A Hoplitissa ponders—when she becomes a demigod, will she be able to fight alongside her goddess?

Meanwhile, Celtic women to the north and west: "Fuck it, we ball!"

Simpler term is better imo. Great work again 👏 👍

I'm not sure, I asked chat GPT. if hoplita is well enough I would gladly use the shorter term from now on!

exactly

Well female warriors were exceptionally rare, as unlike with males, they were give a choice, and woman tended to choose to not to die in battle. It's why they are so praised in myth and history when they do appear, and just like today, it's vasty more common in fantasy. Unfortunately, I do also understand that outliers were rarely treated well, and though rare, it was more likely that female warriors in the past were looked down on. Both by men who had a very narrow view on the world, and by women who saw them as a threat. (If those women could be warriors, then other women could be forced into war as well. This was the main argument pushing back on giving women the right to vote in the USA from women, as they didn't want to be drafted to fight in a war. only when they were offered the right to vote without the draft attached did they want the vote, men still must sign up for the draft)

One thing they fear is for women is to be placed in war , they are valuable for bearing childrens and carrying the strongest man's blood to their child. That is my assumption because most men are simply replacable. And thus why Women are not acceptable as a fighter and is deem to be irreplaceable as a men's tool for home and ease of life. Although Im pretty sure there were rarely bits of women who actually fight and also disguise in men's outfit.

Yup. It's true. Even these days with increases in technology, and historical knowledge, there are those who would deny it... very sad.

Wouldn't a female hoplite be a hoplita? Not trying to be snarky, legit curious. Excellent work 👏 🔥 ❤️ 🕊 🇬🇷 🫒 🕊
