2024-01-02 16:29:43 +0000 UTCThe Buckler is essentially a way to make your hand a more effective parry device. It's small and agile, but protects the hand and forearm. the style of duelistry I studied allowed for off hand blade grabs and a swat with a hand (against Rapier blades) is surprisingly effective. Probably less so for longsword duels, but the Buckler takes care of that.
