It was a dark, moonless Morioh night. Standing beside Kaato Higashikata was Jobin, her eldest son. Swelling out the large rounded bump beneath her dress was her soon-to-be youngest child. And lying beneath her feet was a man, unconscious and half-dead.

“I’m sorry, I don’t-I don’t remember what happened-” Jobin said, trembling.

“Listen, Jobin,” she said. “Go back to the house. Go to bed and pretend like nothing happened. I’ll take care of this myself.”

“B-but, he’s still alive. We have to call an ambulance-”

“We’re not calling an ambulance,” she said. “Remember, you didn’t do anything. I’ll handle this all myself.”

Jobin wanted to protest, but he couldn’t find the words. He took one last look at his mother as she faded into the night as he made a beeline for the estate.

“I don’t have any mercy for those who harm my family,” Kaato said. She held out her hand, and what appeared to be an ordinary deck of 52 playing cards manifested within it.

“And I’ll do whatever it takes to protect them,” she continued, taking two cards from the top of the deck. She leaned over (with some difficulty as a result of her pregnant belly) and placed two cards by the man, one at his head and the other at his feet.

“And right now protecting them means making sure that no evidence is left behind.”

The man vanished between the pair of cards, like a leaf squashed flat between the pages of a book. She carefully lifted the cards out of the dirt, and then, without a moment’s hesitation, she parted her lips as far as she could and dropped them down her throat. She made sure to pinch the cards together so they wouldn’t separate as they traveled down her esophagus. Once they passed through her lower esophageal sphincter the cards fluttered apart, releasing what was stored between them into Kaato’s stomach. Which, in this case was an entire live person.

Kaato’s belly was already quite big with her fairly sizable baby bump, but now that she had an occupant in both her womb and her stomach it was absolutely enormous. Her dress was stretched to its limits as her expanding stomach surged forward until it began to peak out beneath it, exposing the underside of her immense gut.

Her stinging stomach acids were like cold water in the face of a sleeper, and the sensation of them singing his skin roused him out of unconsciousness. Immediately upon waking, he was thrust into a state of utter confusion. The last thing he remembered, he was about to murder that brat Jobin. And now he was somewhere dark, wet, humid, and cramped, while something was steadily eating away at the bottom half of his body. Instinct took over and he went into panic mode.

“Hey, get me out of here!” he said, throwing his body around within what little space he had. Kaato observed her belly shifting as her prey thrashed around within her, her globular gut bulging out when her prey struck against her stomach walls.

“You can struggle all you want,” she said, drumming her fingers atop the swell of her enormous belly. “I have no mercy for those who hurt my family-but you might end up helping them in the end.”
