The Circus Tent

A kaleidoscope of banners wave gleefully in the wind, beckoning to people far and wide to come see what's inside the great tent.

"The circus" is one of those subjects that have been on my to-do list for years and years now, and still gets a fresh request about once a month. Well, seeing as The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is right around the corner and the Heckna "carnival horror campaign setting" Kickstarter was recently funded, I figured it was now or never!

This carnival was a massive undertaking and a great challenge, but I am satisfied with the result. It stands in the center of a 32x44" grassy field which I have thoroughly dressed up with some Circus Map Assets, and it also boasts a 20x20 ft. interior:

I hope that these two packs fulfill all your carnival-related needs! I'd love to hear about the carnivals of your world and the challenges you might have planned for your players. If you'd like to share, please leave a comment below. :)

I love it! Especially a circus traveling by train.

Whoops, looks like my players are going back to the Feywild... :) I'll preface the below small essay that these assets will be great if they ever do go back to either location! They look absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure when I first did my carnival settings, I used some of your older tent assets, and it's so amazing to see how much you've improved! I actually have two carnivals in my setting, they are sort of like rivals, the Midnight Carnival, and the Court of Dreams. Both were created in the wake of a ""restructuring"" of Feywild leadership. The Court is technically a demi-plane that's just sort of... grafted onto the Feywild, created by a former archfey who was disgraced and basically said "fine I'll go make my own Feywild! With blackjack! And hookers!" And she kidnaps people and makes them 'perform' for her monstrous, extraplanar patrons. (where 'perform' usually means 'fight to the death'.) Her typical MO is to kidnap small towns, or at least portions of them, for her own amusement. The Carnival runs in the Material Plane, and travels around trying to stay ahead of the Court, and stop them from doing the kidnapping. They have a train because I decided there are trains, and there are a lot of small settlements along those tracks -- free real estate for the Court. They also take in people who've been negatively impacted by the Court who either want to help stop them, or just don't feel like they can live their normal life anymore. Maybe I'll have to think up a nice normal circus for my players to go to... though that's to say nothing of what might happen if the circus beasties get loose. :)
