The Anvil Rock Battle Map

A mountain peak of staggering height, reaching above the heavens and into the realm of the gods...

This battle map might be dizzying for two reasons: first, the unease it might give you if you're as afraid of heights as I am; second, the perplexing perspective! You see, Anvil Rock is a little more abstract than I usually dare draw for 2-Minute Tabletop, but I thought it was fitting for this particular map concept.

With this strange perspective the plateau can serve as a battle ground with a clear grid, but the staircase and the surroundings can be drawn in service of showing the sheer height of this mountaintop. I hope that it's worth the small "playable" area! At the very least, I'm glad for the learning experience.

Does this fantastical mountain peak have a place in your world? What might be its significance, if so? I'd love to hear about your ideas in the comments! :)

It depends on the size of your planet and its atmosphere (in other words, I have no idea, sorry!) If your world is modeled after earth I would just look up how high cumulus clouds tend to gather + how tall they tend to be and set it a little higher than that.

Ross from 2-Minute Tabletop

Very nice. How tall would you say this is?

Ohh, what for? Glad I could help, and thanks!

They were - several dragon worshipers dropped off the side and just before the dragon was about to come round for a second breath of fire the rogue rolled a 20 on a crossbow shot which was enough to finish the dragon off - he plummeted down to the foot of the huge rock and is now a big sticky mess of dragon...

Ohh, perfect!

Ross from 2-Minute Tabletop

Lovely! I hope your players are veeery careful facing a dragon here. :)

This gives me some Chris Riddell "Edge Chronicles" vibes and I'm very into it.

Timing couldn't be better - for my session tonight I needed a spot that a dragon could retreat to and this is perfect! It is now the base of a bunch of dragon worshipers who will heal the dragon if he is so injured he can't defeat the party...

The dwarves in my campaign setting have just acquired a Skyforge. Thanks!

The Blue-Eyed Bard

Running Neverland setting right now, this would be a perfect place in the mountains to meet some plot point NPCs!
