Let's Draw a Forest Encounter QUICK

I spent all of yesterday putting together this video and, well, I just don't like it! I'm not going to publicly release it on YouTube, but I thought that some of you may enjoy it anyway.

It contains my thought process when I draw a QUICK battle map during game time at my table. It covers the drawing technique as well as the mental check list I use to make a tactically interesting battlefield.

It's not a terrible video, but it does suffer from horrible exposure and a bad case of I-need-another-coffee. Oh well, lessons learnt for next week's video!

Love the video! Honestly getting your maps and watching your vids have helped me so much in making my own material that I cannot thank you enough!

I stumble over it in the video, but all elevation comes down to for me is a) defining the area that counts as difficult terrain and/or climb checks, and b) scattering a few rocks at the bottom to act as a visual cue. As for the actual pen work, I'm going to cover it soon!

Will do! Perhaps I'll include both quick and detailed methods for all the topics I tackle.

The simple way to draw elevation was revelatory! More videos like these, please!

I haven't seen the video yet (since I am at work right now), but the topic is really interesting. I regularly come up with encounters on the fly and having a toolset for some of the most prominent problems would be really helpful. One of my biggest problems is how to signify elevation.
