Custom Keep (exclusive)

I think I went too far down the modular hole, guys! I spent the last two days on this addition to the Castle set and... I don't like it. It's rather time consuming to use and the end result looks half-baked to me. That said, you may still find use for it, so I'm releasing it here for free.

The attached ZIP contains a bunch of tiles, some tiling terrain, and a mock up of Cragmaw Castle. Enjoy!

Tomorrow I'm going to start on a less modular, more better keep. I'm thinking a rectangular, unfurnished, multi-level building in the vein of the Castle Gatehouse. Something like what you find when you Google Image search "donjon". After that, I can hardly wait to make a furniture pack, so I can breath some life into these presently abandoned buildings!

Wow, that looks great! I think the time was well spent if even one person enjoys it, so thank you for sharing.

I'm quite glad you made this, even if you didn't end up super happy with it. Just threw together a private wing of a castle/manor with this + furniture in about 2 hours experimenting with it, pretty happy and it would save me a bit of time compared to drawing out in Illustrator. Example: http://i.imgur.com/S1aogiA.jpg (tend to do lighting and doors in Roll20).

Agree that a good, simple plan is better than a modular one.

Damn, I just ran my group through Cragmaw and had to draw the whole thing out my play mat... But it looks cool. Thank you.

Michael Anderson

it does look a bit...bubbly :)

Being unloved must be the reason why it was abandoned and fell into ruin! It will see a second life, oh yes. XD

Ben

Heart for free, at least! I too am sure this will come to good use.

I'm glad, Hugh! Yeah, the wording trips me up every other day. I just call it a subscription, especially in front of people who have never heard of Patreon or crowdfunding.

Absolutely they still be of great use! These flat textures for the floors themselves are worth it on their own. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the commitment to high quality, it's why I'm... subbed? Why you have my "patronage"? Sounds a bit pompous. Nonetheless, excellent stuff!
