It's funny how things work out. Josh and I talked, we realized we both wanted to see our families, so we're leaving a day apart and both heading to different parts of Florida.
We travel mostly the same route, so we had the idea of seeing whether Murphy could identify where Moose had been. We usually stop at Love's truck stops, because they have small dog parks, so the game will be, was she here?? Josh will know which Love's, and we're curious to see if Murphy recognizes the trail...

Weather isn't sure what it's doing. We've been steady in the 80s, and the next 3 or 4 days are all low 60s. Did a full rebait tonight, fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Man this is like Christmas! We upgraded our leaders, now using a barrel swivel, and it should save us a lot of heartache. Catfish spin when caught, like an alligator. The swivel will let them spin themselves out, instead of kinking and crimping the leaders like we've had in the past. To be fair, we only had this happen to a few, but it'll be easier on the fish, and as we all know, happy fish taste better 😉

Sincerest apologies for not having more to post these past couple days. Murphy had a nasty laceration on the inside of his lip, likely from the snapping game he and the neighbor dog play. He had a big day at the vet and has since been enveloped in all the loving care, soft foods, and cheese wrapped antibiotics he can handle.
All is well now on the home front, but it's certainly proved a distraction!
We've got a cold front moving through, hoping this is our last frost, as we have...

It begins again
Scouting mission today! We started back where we had lines last season, and after a good hour of scouring the banks, we were unable to find anyone else's lines. We found our markers from last year, just a few inches of cord tied to a branch, but everyone else who was fishing our area last season has either moved on or is just as far behind as we are. The prognosis is good! The first week of April will see both the garden and the river 😊

I'm almost ashamed of how many photos I have, but it doesn't compare to the amount of footage! I have 2 (of 4) videos almost done and ready for post for the islands, along with a good deal of garden progress to start us off strong.

Few words
There was a fatality. 2 semis collided and one was a 77 year old man, who did not make it. We prayed for hours for him... The shut down lasted just over 8 hours. We were there for almost 6 of them. Mom missed her flight, and we had little choice but to make desperate decisions on the side of the road, and not just the easy relief.... I tried so hard to hide myself in a bush and my back end is burning because of it. Nobody had it easy today. The police were thankfully ignoring the hundreds...

Was taking my mom to the airport this morning and we encountered a wreck. Been sitting with the car off now for over 3 hours. The weird thing is, aside from the news that there's been one fatality, there's absolutely nothing about this online. The whole southbound highway is shut down, and there's cops at the back of the line ticketing anyone who makes a break for the last exit.
