Patreon "Patch Notes"

Hello again. I've been making a few changes around Patreon and thought I'd compile them here in a rough order of importance. Here they are:

Monthly Limits and Map Deliveries

When I started on Patreon, the monthly limits of your pledges were hidden from me so, despite the intention being $1-per-map-plus-bonus-material, I had no way of knowing if someone was manipulating the monthly maximum. So long as they ticked "$1/map, monthly limit: $1" they would receive every map that month at only $1.

Recently Patreon gave us more sorting options, including a way to see this limit! Going forward, you will receive every map that you pledge towards (and all the bonus material) and I have adjusted the reward tier text to better reflect this. I hope you'll agree that this is fair!

Due to the way I have chosen to share the map variants, coupons and other bonus content, you may still pledge only $1/month and gain access to all that material. This will stay as-is for now!

Better credit to the $2+ Patrons

The $2 reward tier, till now, has put your name in my Youtube credits and on an akward thank you page on my website with no other purpose. This has bothered me, since who is going to go looking for such a page, and why wouldn't they just come here to Patreon to see a more comprehensive list?

So, in a change very obvious in hindsight, I'm going to phase out this thank you page and instead post credit on the map announcement posts themselves, where I already send a lot of people from social media.

And yes, more videos coming! Next month when  get home, I hope!

The impending $300 pledge milestone!

It's both exciting and a little scary that it's right around the corner, to be honest! Wow, have we got some momentum!

I have reworded this milestone only because I'm terrified the current wording might be misunderstood. I just want to make clear, before we hit this milestone, that only content where the total pledge exceeds $300 will be posted under a Creative Commons Attribution license, and any below that figure will be posted as they are now, under a $1 personal use deal.

The reason being is that the Monthly Maximum I described above makes Patreon rather vague and unpredictable, and milestones even moreso. Every piece of content I release over the course of the month earns less than the one before it, sometimes very drastically if it so happens that's the point where the majority of Monthly Maximums drew the line.

I hope that makes sense and sounds fair to you! The good news is, if the numbers stay where they are, this weeks map will be the first to ring the $300 bell!
