Hey there, wonderful people!
So, vase mode! After reworking the Wicker Concentric Vase with its layers and criss-crossed sections I wondered how close I could get to the same kind of effect using a single spiraling line of filament...
The key element of the original design is the criss-crossing of the two layers, so I started out by building those twisted strips, then laying another set underneath, inset from the first set. The idea was go give a sense of the same diamond-shaped holes that the Wicker Concentric Vase has. There was, however, a problem with that.

See, it's a cardinal rule of vase mode printing that it must be possible to trace the entire perimeter of each horizontal slice with a single, continuous line. No holes allowed, no islands permitted. If you take that outer strip with its overhanging edges and double it back under itself you end up with little pockets that violate these rules.
Step two, then, was to change the profile of the inner strips to have outward-sloping sides instead of tucked-in ones. Both sides of the strip needed to change since we can't have upward-facing pockets either! Rules are rules in the high-stakes world of vase mode print design.
The inner strips looked interesting, but didn't stand out... until a few experiments later they were made much narrower and more numerous, to the point that they became a swirling zigzag texture, which contrasted very nicely with the smooth outer strips. and that's how we got here!
Printing Tips
This one's a vase mode print, so set your slicer accordingly! In Cura you want the setting called "spiralize outer contour".
The vase prints base-down like this:

Further Thoughts
It's always so much fun to dive back into vase mode! And the test printing is so much quicker, too :) While this one diverged somewhat from the original intention I do love where it ended up - I'm a sucker for textures, really.
