6.11 Recoil

Blake's punch had been a pretty powerful strike, expertly thrown by someone with superhuman strength, but Derrick had been wearing his infamous mask. It was designed to take much more punishment than even enhanced flesh and muscle could deliver.

The only part of him that even really felt the blow was his neck muscles, and even that was light. In fact, Derrick wouldn't be surprised if Blake's fist had lost the exchange.

It seemed like Derrick was going to be heading up north to rescue some people. Everyone seemed to want him to. Derrick and Blake raced back up top, Derrick pulling ahead due to his traits and higher level. He zoomed through the concrete tunnel, up the stairs and out the metal door that led to the food court.
