Hi Cinders!

So excited to release to you all my CINDER WOLF design! I worked SO hard to avoid a pop-in head and was able to get it to be COMPLETELY Print-in-place!

The head prints upwards and has been PRE-SUPPORTED - so do not add any supports! I am attaching a video to another post showing how to simply remove the neck support after a print! It's really easy! LINK: HERE

We have tested this wolf between 100% and 60% and it is so fun to play with! It also looks great in a single color filament - making simple and fast prints! I hope you all enjoy this! :)

Speed and cooling usually!

The neck support on this: while it worked great on my Qidi Tech it doesn't work in my bambu. Not sure of the difference

Lorna House

what part is the supports and what is not

Keirra Hourn

After two days of time gone and about half a spool of filament, I finally gave up and added tree supports to get past the head. Still looks pretty rough underneath the head but at least it finished and is functional. Even with slow speed and even slower overhangs, it was still a white knuckle experience. I know print in place is cool, but I wouldn't mind a separate head for these models that snaps on to eliminate these issues altogether.

Ender 3 S1 Pro. First attempt, failure at the head joints. Second attempt, slowed everything wayyyy down once it got to the head. 5h7m in, will update. Update: two out of five wolves have successfully printed even slowing down to 20% of my usual speed. For whatever reason three wolves still failed at the same settings the other two succeeded.

Emma Liz

you should make a crystal wolf

carson

Printed great on my X1C. Slowed everything down. I have learned slowing the acceleration down helps a lot.

Andrew Gosnell

Firstly, I printed this model on Bambu, Aquila and Vyper. I've slowed down the speed on each and id say at least 20+ tries with 1 "ok" print. I've given up trying. The dragon was perfect. Thanks for all you do

Michael Davis

I was wondering if that was the case, I have a slower plate of them printing right now! The ones that I did print sold SO WELL, so I am hoping it works!

Meagan

We recommend going slow for this model, the bambus go way too fast for overhangs on default settings for this particualr model

Jazzy

I love this wolf!! Unfortunately I’ve had so many fails from the neck support breaking off that I don’t think I can continue to print unless you have advice for fixes? I use a Bambu X1C, I’ve tried on both machines with the same result :(

Meagan

Update. FYI using an Ender 3 S1. Turns out I was printing to fast. Slowed the print down to 80% speed and I now get wonderful prints, both in standard PLA and Silk PLA. Basically 80% of the default speed of your slicer settings for your printer. I have pictures and vids on twitter. I will share later to the Discord server.

My P1P has been making them no problem at 0.12

Fantasy Forms

Ender 3 S1 pro. Have tried .15 and .20 layer heights. This begins to fail on the neck at layers 217/218 and 238/239. The support "ball" contact area is not large enough to allow the head parts to adhere properly and it loses strength. Breaks away a few layers later in one or both of these areas for me. Will try it on a bambu x1 in the next few days for comparison.

So glad to have a wolf! It's the mascot for my daughter's school and I've tried printing wolf models I've purchased from other designers, but none of them worked very well. (I gave up and the teachers got dragon tadlings instead. 😁)

Josh Carter

In the process of printing one for my father in-law rn, he loves wolves!! Very cool model!!!

Okay, 4 attempts down, 1 success out of 4. I use a Creality Ender 3 S1. 1st one, I used CHEP's Cura settings to get a 7 hour print time. The filament welded itself together on the joints. So tried Prusa slicer. 12h30 minutes print. It decapitated my poor boy. Then tried Creality Print with normal PLA. Came out perfect. Tried it with the silk. Failure on the same g-code. Now tried it with normal PLA again. Fail on the tail. Same happened on the silk. FYI I used the standard settings. Is the slicers going to fast for sensitive areas? Only Cura alliws you to isolate and slow down areas, I think. And I so wanted to present Cinder wolf meets Ice wolf to your discord. Could my silk OLA be to moist? Affecting layer adhesion? It has been open for over 6 months now? Or should I try upscaling the model for stronger walls, reducing risk of collapsing?

Gerhard Grobler

This is all fantastic feedback thank you!

Jazzy

I reduced them in size to 65-75% to see if I could get two on my BL-X1C-C bed which I did. What I discovered is the neck supports at times are on the hairy edge of insufficient. When I used a Sunlu PLA Silk I had about 25% success - all failing because the supports failed at the last widest printing stage of the upper head section... What happened is the supports would give way, the head would then wobble and the print head would hit it eventually breaking bed adhesion of the front legs and front body section then it was spaghetti head city. The BL PLA Basic printed fine every time using the exact same parameters. Hopefully at higher percentages the supports are also thicker and therefore it shouldn't be an issue but my point with all this is be sure to consider your filament strength as part of the equation. I now have three great looking dogs and three perfect resident evil dogs... I may try to see if I can print and replace just the upper heads section to fix/demutate them. They look sad all blowed up and all...

Quick update, I tried printing on the P1P we have and they printed. The neck supports were barley attached but held and came off easy. Only difference in the settings was the the outer wall acceleration was 2500 instead of 5000. Not sure if I got lucky of if this is a contributing factor. The models look amazing.

Crescent Creations 3D

I printed at 100% on an X1-Carbon with no trouble. I don't know if it has a better ability to deal with the problem areas you're seeing here, but my model is perfect. I'm now printing it on a slower Neptune 2S. I'll let you know if it has any problems.

BMS Imaginarium

Printed this with Bambu Lab Matte Grey at fine resolution, and it's amazing. I was going to ask if this can be scaled up, but I see someone's already done it at 200%. I'm going to make a big one!

BMS Imaginarium

Printed at 200 percent wish I could show you! I’m so excited!! He’s so perfect!!

Jennifer Zorrilla

At minimum 50% of our testing is done on Bambus, the rest is various Enders, Anycubics, and Sovols last I checked. We had stellar results for those printers between the usual scalings. That being said we will look into this.

Jazzy

After a bit more looking, I can actually see there's just too little for the bambu to lay the outer wall of the spherical supports on, meaning there's just nothing being created. If you look closely at the slice, there's just a small dot, it'll pick that straight up next time round if it even sticks down. I don't think that without slowing it down to a typical ender speed, and then also lowering the acceleration, that it's going to be able to do it.

Shannon Hill

I use P1s's too, I just sliced it at .2 layer height and can immediately see problems, the supports are spherical which is the first issue, then there's a massive gap between the model and the support, I don't think it's close enough to be classed as a support on it and with the Bambu's being so accurate, it's going to be difficult for it to work. The reason I say the spherical supports are a problem is because between bedslingers and corexys I have noticed that the corexys struggle a bit more with round objects. Between the speed and the different movement, it causes it to be knocked more. I'm going to do some test prints tomorrow on it, for now I'd suggest slicing the model at the neck, do a few test prints, see where it's failing, and then report back for other's see if they can work out a solution.

Shannon Hill

I'd highly recommend tuning overhangs and flow as those both of those are really important to this model

Jazzy

The important thing is to go slow on overhangs as the neck area is just a bunch of overhangs lol

Jazzy

Hi, I love the design but I cannot get it to print. I have tried 120%, 100%, 70% and 50% on multiple P1S printers and all failed at the neck. No extra supports and running 50mms using silk. Any tips would be apricated.

Crescent Creations 3D

Yes!!!!!! Printing this as soon as I'm home! Dang work getting in the way! Lol I'm so excited for this one!

Jennifer Saunders

Printed it last night. Came out prefect!!!

Kenneth James

Am I doing something wrong? the head on this guy keeps misprinting on the lower jaw.

Donald Holloway

I just finished printing my goodest boy. This one, I’m keeping for me.

Kristi Pearce

A lovely change from your other designs, And just in time to pop out a few as christmas presents.

Gerhard Grobler

Already on the printer. Will try to post on the discord channel. Don't have any browns or greys, so went with a silk blue PLA, may try for the Kingfisher rainbow next May look strange as the roll is currently going from light purple to green.

Gerhard Grobler

Another amazing toy that I won't be able to keep my granddaughter from stealing. πŸ˜‚
