New and much more printable! :D
If there's one thing I really enjoy about problem solving it's the evolution of those solutions over time. Each step along the way gives insight that can drive more refined versions - and that's what we have here!
It already feels like a long time ago that I was sketching tetrahedra and hinges and trying to work out how to make a kaleidocycle support-free and print-in-place at all. It worked out, of course, and I was super pleased with the result, but it was a technically difficult print and prone to failure if anything went wrong. So, I kept at it.

The bolted assembly version of the kaleidocycle was aimed at being easier to print, but it didn't have the elegance of the print-in-place design. So, more thought was needed...
And here we are!
This one prints flat! And no angles are beyond 45 degrees! The hinges are all stronger, too, with more robust connections between the parts.

Importantly, it's as fun and strange and fidgety as ever :)
Most importantly, though, thank you all for your amazing ongoing support and feedback! Hearing what works and what's problematic is so useful, so keep the comments coming!
Creative Printer supporters will find this model under "Evolved Kaleidocycle" on dropbox.
Happy kaleidocycling!
