Well, almost another year over! Actually, I'll save the nostalgia for a separate post (and talk about failures!) and instead let's get into another model!
So, I was working with that concentric moire vase design, and while experimenting with different shapes it occurred to me that you could make a container based on that concept... and here it is! But what is it?

Of course it's primarily a fun exercise in geometry and tolerances, but what's probably more relevant is that it's a container. A box, if you will. This one has a sliding side opening that works by having an inner compartment that rotates independently of the outer shell. A sticky-outy handle keeps the door within a certain range of motion.
Oh, but you can also open and close the container by rotating the top, which is a part of the inner compartment, and so rotates along with the door. I have some half-worked out designs that don't present the inner as the top in the same way, but I really like being able to operate this thing a bit like a jar.
I'll pop a quick video of this in action on Instagram, too :)
So, here's hoping everyone's having a great time as 2109 draws to a close, and, as always, thank you so much for your support and enthusiasm <3
