Tourist Attractions in Hanoi

I can't believe it's already April 6, 2025. There are many places to visit here, and some of them are Mausoleum Ho Chi Minh.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the final resting place of Ho Chi Minh, the famous leader of Vietnam. Located in the center of Hanoi, in front of Ba Dinh Square, his body is preserved in a glass coffin. This site is one of Vietnam’s most important historical landmarks and is frequently visited by tourists who come to pay their respects to Ho Chi Minh for his role in the country's fight for independence.

To get there from our hotel, we took a public bus. The ticket costs around $0.50 USD and can be paid in cash. If you're unsure which bus to take, you can easily check Google Maps, which provides clear information on which bus to ride to reach your destination.

Once you arrive at the destination, you will need to queue for a security check, just like at the airport. Inside, there are several areas to visit.

Around the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum there are several interesting places you can visit, some of which are free while others require an entrance fee, including:

- Ba Dinh Square (free): This is the place where Ho Chi Minh proclaimed Vietnam's independence on September 2, 1945. It is a large square located in front of the Mausoleum.

Inside this building is where Ho Chi Minh’s body is preserved in a glass coffin, and visitors can view it from a certain distance. The preservation process is carried out very carefully and has been maintained for many years. However, I did not go inside.

- One Pillar Pagoda (free): A small, unique, and very famous temple built in 1049. Its shape resembles a lotus flower growing above a pond.

- Museum Ho Chi Minh ($1,5): Located near the Mausoleum, this museum houses various artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Ho Chi Minh's life and struggle. I didn’t go inside the museum, I just took photos of the building area, haha.

- Istana Kepresidenan (Presidential Palace $2,45): The yellow building that used to be the residence of the President of Vietnam. Although it's not open to the public, you can see it from the outside and enjoy the gardens. I’ll take you for a walk around this palace!

The atmosphere here is very lush, like a garden, with many trees and a lake.

Actually, it's easy to understand what these places were used for in the past, as there are many infographics that can be read.

Let's visit the building next to it, which was used for daily activities and work.

And this is the view of the kitchen they usually used for preparation and dining.

After this, I continued to explore and will visit another house, which is Ho Chi Minh's wooden house.

There are public restrooms in this area, so no need to worry.

Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House: A simple wooden house used by Ho Chi Minh during his time in office. This is a very iconic house located within the mausoleum complex.

After exploring the presidential area, on the way out, there are many food shops and souvenir stores. You can do some shopping here if you like!

After leaving here, my friend and I decided to split up for a while. I chose to hang out at this place, and the time was around 3:30 PM. I honestly have no idea what this is or where it is, I totally forgot haha.

I DONT KNOW WHERE?!

Around 6:00 PM, I returned to the hotel to prepare for the evening activities. Stay tuned for our journey...
