Beautiful beautiful. You're so welcome and thank you

Franklin

BBA "oh no...my boys.." and running toward the gunfire... Seeing them all doing the movements not even sure if it will work but having faith in each other.. BBA is my favorite. Never thought a teacher could be my favorite but it's just so unexpected and she's such an amazing character. It just works All of them following the ambulance feeling the current taking OA.. Ending on "Homer..?" I love this show so much. They put so much thought and care into this show and IDC i still have hope they will give us a season 3 eventually.. I just love art like this. Not everyone will understand but the ones who do...will❤️ Thank you for reacting to these shows that aren't as mainstream. I will continue to support you my kindred spirit🧡

Jusskitten

Thank you so much for posting this...I've never seen this before. I'll be at the no kings protest tomorrow and this just made me tear up ❤️ I still have hope for America no matter how loud the evil people are here. God bless 🙌

Jusskitten

I really hope you do Dark, that is such a mind bending show. The fall of the house of usher is a favorite of mine too as someone from Baltimore who grew up with Edgar Allen Poe poems🖤

I beg you kind sir, please do Dark

I don't know why, but watching them perform the movements in perfect unison and with such emotion always gives me full-body chills. I had forgotten about how they got the 5th movement, and so the emotion of that scene hit me all over again. I was bawling. I remember when the show first came out, some people did a flash mob after having learned and practiced the movements and posted it on YouTube. they did it to protest all Trump's shady practices, even back in 2017. I found it and watched it over and over again, and it gave me so much peace. Here's the link if you want to watch it. it's very short: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlRNnC7GupQ&pp=ygUQdGhlIG9hIGZsYXNoIG1vYg%3D%3D thanks for reacting to this, Frank. it gave me an excuse to revisit this incredible series. ❤️

I'm with you. me talking about "consequences" wasn't implying he deserves that

Franklin

This is so not related to the OA since I just started this video, but you mentioned Dark, and given the types of mindfucky shows you seem to like, it really is right up your alley!

Noah McLennan

I 100% agree that becoming a 'good person' doesnt excuse you from being punished for your horrible actions before. However in this case I think this specific decision was a mistake. Only because of how there was no talking or checking in first. The point of the school isnt punishment but instead rehabilitation. So of they knew that Steve was already on a path to that then the school should have been out. Though another punishment should have been given for the sake of discipline. Paying the medical bills and maybe something else. Like volunteer or something. I dont know. But I also have a distrust of those kind of places because of the ridiculous amount of abuse that happens in them.

Nightcrawler247

The way they all leap back into faith together from their doubt and separation is so beautiful and intense !! THE MOVEMENTS HIT SO HARD. I think this is the 5th time I've seen The OA and this ending never hits less hard. I was thinking about the finale when you talked about that school shooting and your break between eps 5 & 6. Glad there were a couple eps in between at least but your response is totally understandable. Too close. THANKS for your beautiful reaction to this Frank! VERY EXCITED for S2 !!

"My boys" 😭💗

Military schools are voluntary and regulated whereas reform schools are involuntary and unregulated.

melskmelsk

No kid should be subjected to these "reform schools". You can't imprison and abuse people into improving their state of mind and ability to engage with others in healthy ways. Fuuuuuck that shit entirely.

melskmelsk

I FUCKING LOVE BBA!!

melskmelsk

Fitting that Buck's closed-minded dad closed the door too

melskmelsk

I'm actually not remembering right now if we do get any sort of callback to Buck's dad closing the door, but I think the whole "leave your door open" thing is more symbolic. Or like a physical act that represents and helps to establish the state of openness and trust/faith they need to have to engage with OA and her story and what she's asking them to learn and do.

melskmelsk

oh yes you will, we gotta finish the list and hear all your thoughts💐

Episode 8, the song that plays during the closing credits when I watched the episode again on Netflix after viewing your reaction....chanted mostly in OA.....wow, that brought back memories. It is one of my favorite songs "Angel" written and first sung by Sarah McLachlan. It helped me through one of the darkest times of my life 25 years ago. Here is a link to her beautiful voice and song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SiylvmFI_8

I mean, they are down a person now on their 5. The kid literally is becoming a better person, and if we are judged by our worst actions and not given another chance, then we would all be in a terrible place. The kid's dad seems like a total asshole. You don't do that to your fucking kid. No matter what. Trust me. We all deserve second chances. I mean, whoever he was put with seems really fucking shady. Threatening to end him? WTAF. Like why the fuck do these people think they get to fucking beat him? And his dad gave him over to them? No, that's fucking bullshit. Fuck that. No excuse for that. Fuck "reform school" bullshit. They can fucking hang from a gallows for treating people like that. That's not right, to treat underage kids like that. Kids are not fucking property, they are fucking humans. I hate that shit more than anything else. His fucking dad should go to prison for signing him over.

I'm so hopeful to see the glory in your list. I hope you will react to it one day

Thank you for reacting to this series, it reminds me how beautiful the writing is. I'm not spiritual but in this show it feels organic and authentic, maybe because it bears many forms, it is ingrained with the sense of community and togetherness and it does not seems affiliated to any specific dogma. Imo season 2 is incredible. I was obsessed with the universe created there. Some astonishing scenes in S2, stuff you don't see anywhere else. Kudos to Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. A note on season 7 with the sheriff's actions : it resonates with Le Guin's novel The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, where people leave in an utopia, knowing that their happiness is directly linked to the misery of one child. Adults know but their lifes are so perfect that most of them accept it and stay.

Enjoying your reactions to this series so much. I wanted to say that I really appreciate you picking up some shows that don't perform great in polls. A lot of the really popular options that every reaction channel covers just don't hit for me, for whatever reason. There are some truly amazing series and films out there that might not be as widely known and celebrated, and I'm always bummed that so few reaction channels give what are some of my all-time favorites a try. I know you've got to cater to what the majority audience is interested in seeing, but thanks for making space for some sleeper hits and the smaller-but-diehard group of fans they'll attract. ❤️

Damn, Frank, I'm not going to live long enough to view your reactions to your extensive list!! 😮 I keep forgetting to mention, the secondary character, adoptive mother Nancy....she is played by an actor I have always enjoyed. She is South African actress, Alice Maud Krige. She has a rich history in film and TV and has starred in various British, South African, European, and American films throughout her career. She was in the British historical film Chariots of Fire, which is very good. If anyone is a Star Trek fan they will recognize her as she played the creepy Borg Queen. And.....Since Halloween will soon be right around the corner, I encourage you to check Alice out in the film Ghost Story-1981.  It is an excellent supernatural story! It's a classic ghost story without all the gory stuff, but there are definitely scares! Notable veteran actors include Fred Astaire, John Houseman, Melvyn Douglas, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. They play old friends, members of the self-created Chowder Society, who get together and tell ghost tales. The scariest story of all, however, is the one they never speak about with each other.....the one they try to forget!!!  And I will say no more to avoid spoiling it!!

KimM

The theory is that the therapist guy planted the books btw.

First Name Ella

Notice the boys and BBA are all wearing the same colors at the end...

First Name Ella

1:30:09 started sooooo many theories about who the therapist guy really is. Why was he there? At their house? At night? So many theories he is actually CIA or something. Also, theories that Rachel is also a plant of some kind. None of this is spoilers, it's what everyone was saying when these eps aired btw.

First Name Ella

I get what you're saying about Steve and all the chances he gets.

First Name Ella

A nice touch by Brit and Zal (the writers) was having the shape of the cracked glass from the bullet be in 5 and very similar shape to the glass cages. The extent of detail and foresight they write with is truly amazing. If you didnt know, Zal is Brit's most frequent writing partner and theyve collaborated many times. The 2 scenes of the cops wife and cafeteria were both so beautifully done and give me chills every time. Can't wait for S2, man. I think you're gunna love it.

alienqueen

I’m only at the start of the video but I can’t wait for you to react to Mr. Robot one day!

Amanda Hill

Is it a visual or verbal clue? I think I may know, but I'm not sure.

Melissa

There's an "easter egg" hidden in episode 7. I hope others dont reveal it outright, its fun to catch......... a clue is (if you want one keep reading) ..............watch back the scene when they are in the lobby with the fbi therapist. Happy sleuthing;)
