That is such a good point on Rick and Lori finding momentary Peace and unity in their relationship, and now some of those cracks are showing through

Franklin

😂😂 Yes indeed

I love all the analysis and conversation this show creates space for with all of its themes and conflicts, BUT…… “nah, they’re not born with teeth” about babies had me DYING again. I always appreciate the light hearted moments in the middle of some serious effing stuff

Finally binged and made it to your Season 3 reactions...and I'm so glad you at least recognize Michonne so I can say she is my GIRL like that's my woman, the loml everyone . She's iconic. Anyways! You are in for another great season! I'm glad you enjoyed Season 2 so much because it gets a lot of flack for being "boring" to fans because of how much of the conflict was interpersonal drama and character driven rather than outside forces or walker action. But even though I really enjoyed Season 2, finding the prison here in Season 3 is sure to change things a lot! And even though I am nowhere near as harsh on Lori as her haters are and I think Rick is being cruel, I will confess that I still don't actually...like her all that much. I just don't think she deserves as much criticism as she gets. I empathize with her and her choices, but the main things I dislike about her are why I also understand Rick's behavior with her this episode a bit. Neither of them are perfect, but I think that considering Rick's mental state she sort of dropped the ball on being that rock for him as a partner. And Rick is an emotional (and honestly kind of petty) guy so once that trust or support was broken, he's not really capable of giving himself back entirely. But "Rick has issues" is an understatement and no spoilers, but that will not change lol I think the crux of the problem is that while maybe the apocalypse and thinking they lost each other was a temporary fix that strengthened their connection momentarily, the longer they live in this world the more clear their issues pre-apocalypse are and I think that maybe Rick and Lori were just never really the right people for each other. They've tried hard to make that work, but the more this world changes them, the harder that is to do.

Franklin

yikessssssssssss

That part has always been weird to me. if someone hasn't seen the show and just heard all the online talk, they'd think she's the worst character in the show

Franklin

So many people hated on Lori, but I always felt for her. Sarah Wayne Callies' performance was so good. She portrayed a well-rounded human being in my opinion. Flawed which a lot of people don't like. She's feeling horrendously guilty, but I do not directly blame her for what happened between Rick and Shane. Her pain when Rick barely looks at her is so palpable. It's heartbreaking.

It's not in the TWD Collection. I had to hunt it down as well. Here's the URL https://www.patreon.com/posts/walking-dead-2-x-133852258

Isn't there another episode left in Season 2?

Ashley Coalts

Babies are born with fingernails so the baby could potentially claw at Lorie from the inside which would turn her, so it’s a legitimate fear. My overthinking ass would be on the verge of an anxiety attack 24/7 😭

Michonne might be my favorite character of all time

Rosilane Moreira

The opening to this season was insane watching it live. It was so silent, not even one line for so long and that illustrated how grim their situation was so well. Social media was popping off about how quiet it was. This was when the show was building to its peak in popularity, it brought most of the audience in and you can see why. The story is so tight, intriguing, and exciting from the launch. Just to help clarify, Rick threw out that can of food because it was dog food. It's sort of implied he didn't believe they were low enough to resort to that. Though, in my opinion, food is food and if they cooked it, it might have been okay to eat. Also when Daryl refers to "little Shane" having quite the appetite, he is talking about the unborn baby, not Rick, so he's basically saying Lori has to eat a lot more cause she's pregnant, but also kind of taking a dig at her, which does confuse me a little. Perhaps he's irritated she was so harsh toward Rick about the killing Shane thing? I haven't thought about that one much. Rick doing stuff and things is still a meme referenced quite often in my family. My dad got a kick out of it. Glad he still gets so much joy from a show he only started watching because we'd put it on the tv in front of him and he couldn't help but get invested. We also got him to watch Game of Thrones and Dr. Who that way, haha. Michonne was an instant favorite for me. Danai Gurira's portrayal endeared her to everyone so fast. Like she's gruff, but so straight-forward, but also so caring toward Andrea, but also so badass. It's good to reiterate the spoiler rule at this point because it is SO tempting to talk about the future with everything they're lining up this season, but I'll keep trying my best not to let on early about anything! It's getting so good and I am so excited to see more of your reactions!

I believe you!!

Definintely see that the group have spent many months scavenging and surviving house-to-house, and everyone has become much more proficient with weapons and survival skills in the process and working as a team.  It is very clear that Rick and Lori are not on good terms. I for one do not blame Rick for being curt with Lori for now.  More irony in this episode...Hershel originally suggested that Rick amputate Randall's leg during the second season. In this episode, Rick is forced to take on the agonizing burden of amputating Hershel's leg with a small ax!!! 😮

KimM

“I’m doing stuff. Thingsss” another classic walking dead meme

Sofia W

To clarify, when Daryl said "Little Shane's got quite the appetite," he was referring to Lori eating for two; that's why Carol said "don't be mean." Also, side note: when I looked it up to confirm that, I fell down a Reddit rabbit hole of people all theorizing who the father was back when season 2 was airing and you would not believe the number of people who don't understand how reproduction works LOL

Ellen Noir

I love this first episode because it really highlights how in sync they are now as fighting together. Carl is def following in his dads footsteps

Nicole

Another thing I always read a little differently. Always saw it as Rick was showing trust and respect to Carl by allowing him to be lookout on point. Giving him more responsibility and treating him like an adult, like he said “no more kid stuff”

Matthew Arner

Idk if u caught the fact that was dog food Carl was about to eat. Rick didn’t need to be quite so aggressive but I always read it as Rick trying to show everyone and himself that they aren’t desperate enough to eat dog food.

Matthew Arner

oh shit season 3 already let’s gooo! ngl i’ve been waiting to catch up on these reactions until you got to season 3 so that i can binge, yesss! this show is so good ugh
