I grew up in a not very safe neighborhood in the 70s/80s, so going outside was not the best option, and I guess the custom has carried over. So, for me, the best way to turn around a bad day is to exercise my brain! There's something about bringing order to chaos that I find incredibly satisfying. So, I sort files, I rename collections, I make lists, I write, I read... Gosh, I would have been such a great librarian. Just thinking about sorting card catalogs makes me happy. Right now, though, because I'm in the middle of a full renovation, I'm sorting out the puzzle of where will I need to install plugs, and when I finally had the kitchen layout worked out, it was such pure bliss! I don't expect anyone to understand, but for me it really works!
