As promised, here are some pictures of the house burning. Video coming soon! My father-in-law's old house in the country. The house was uninhabitable. It was just way too old. Everything was falling apart, mold, etc (hill house vibes). He spent the last year building a new house right next to it (that's where we're filming from)..I assumed it was just going to be a regular burning. But the town fire department actually used the house to train new recruits. They would light up sections of the building in a controlled fashion and then send a group of three or four firemen to put it out. It was crazy fun to watch.
We all woke up at 7:30 and were ready to watch. Everyone had breakfast, coffee, and snacks ready. They did their exercise for about 2 hours. And then set the whole house on fire, but use water to control the flame. Seeing them tame the fire was so fun while still letting it consume the house. That shit was a blast. Some friends even flew into town to come watch. I mean, how often do you see a house burn on purpose. It was so cool. Obviously there were some emotions, generations lived in that house. So many memories from Val and her family.
