2025-03-25 15:18:43 +0000 UTCThis show is a rough watch, but it's so well done. What I like about it is that it shows the spectrum of consent and assault. You have the more violent attacks like what Arabella experienced at the bar and what's done to Kwame, but you also have the more insidious "nice guy" assaults from Zain that seem not as bad, but they're all issues of consent and respect at the end of the day. Hug your kitties after these eps; you're gonna need it!

I don't get high because I stopped liking it; I stopped getting high because I liked it too much. When I see her coming back for more all I think is: Some people can dabble or self-regulate, some can't.

She mentioned something along the lines of "... there's an issue with consent when a person participates in sexual acts by omission of other facts." She was referencing this scene, where T probably wouldn't have engaged in the threesome had she known that there was a 'plan' of some sorts by these guys. It is very subtle, though. This scene in particular and Coel's comments on it have always stuck with me for some reason.

I mean, Terry was consenting, but I think they pretended to not know one another when really they did. Perhaps something they do often, esp with tourists. Anyone else?

Thank you for watching such a painful but important series. The woman that questions her about her memories in episode 2 - I've seen her in something else. I think she has such a kind, gentle face. I just looked it up -- she's Ted Lasso's therapist!!!
