2025-03-08 10:39:40 +0000 UTCI was so moved by it. A welcome change from what we often see in prison movies.

2025-03-08 10:38:47 +0000 UTCI definitely don’t see Sing Sing winning this poll, it had a very limited release initially in 2023 i think and then essentially disappeared for a year before suddenly showing up on streaming platforms this year. Not sure why. It received lots of acclaim during its run at film festivals upon initial release. I would definitely recommend keeping this one in your back pocket for future watch even if it’s not for the channel. If i were to give an elevator pitch for it, I’d say it’s an exploration of positive masculinity and vulnerability in and amongst men. Def an underdog worth paying attention to.

2025-02-12 14:30:07 +0000 UTCI have been waiting so long for you to watch Iron Claw. I am not a wrestling fan but I know you are. It’s got heavy themes that you don’t shy away from, and some incredible performances. It honestly seems right down your alley!

2025-02-11 17:35:57 +0000 UTCI love horror except I simply cannot do extreme bodyhorror. It’s like watching someone get ill on screen - I just get a visceral sympathetic reaction 🤢. Emotionally torture those teenagers all day, no big deal. Just please leave their fingernails alone.

2025-02-11 02:36:16 +0000 UTCThe Substance is a trip and a half and the sort of horror film that i think you’d be comfortable with

2025-02-11 01:00:07 +0000 UTCThe design, the colors, like a feminist manifesto served as ice cream with sprinkles. 😀

2025-02-11 00:03:45 +0000 UTCOh shout out for Conclave also. I was not expecting what that movie brings, it's a damn good watch.

2025-02-10 23:34:11 +0000 UTCI voted Iron Claw. Fantastic movie. Parasite and Memento are classics. You'll love Parasite, if it wins.
Blankzy
2025-02-10 23:33:01 +0000 UTCParasite won Best Picture.

2025-02-10 19:01:03 +0000 UTCI would pay never to see The Substance again. Parasite is excellent, but so is Memento so I went with your star!

2025-02-10 18:59:51 +0000 UTCSing Sing is so underrated, but it's such a wonderful movie. It made me cry

2025-02-10 16:24:40 +0000 UTCTrust me, I get it lol it’s crazy. But the deep themes of the movie really shine through despite the gore.

2025-02-10 15:25:25 +0000 UTCEven reading the description of the movie shocked me. I like mystic horror but I am not sure, if I can stand bodyhorror. Now I don't know, If I want to see it or not. 😬 Perhaps I will try if Frank is going to watch it, but I would Not watch it on my own. 😥
Myra
2025-02-10 15:18:04 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if the bodyhorror aspect will not be too much for Frank (and for myself). 🫣
Myra
2025-02-10 15:12:08 +0000 UTCGo, Memento. 🥳
Myra
2025-02-10 15:09:32 +0000 UTCHow is there no star next to The Substance?? It’s phenomenal.

2025-02-10 14:47:11 +0000 UTCI recently watched "Anora," and I did like it. It didn't turn out to be what I expected, but it was good.
Melissa
2025-02-10 14:01:25 +0000 UTCInitially, I wanted to see it, but I waited until my best friend watched it because she can usually handle anything & I trust her judgment as to whether or not I would like it. I legitimately felt guilty for even recommending it to her because she was so disgusted and disturbed by it. I know it has a lot of fans, which is great. I only wanted to share my input. :)
Melissa
2025-02-10 14:00:06 +0000 UTCMemento is a pretty strong thriller. Iron Claw will gut you. Parasite deserved an Oscar. Anora is on my to see list. ...it's all good...

2025-02-10 13:13:22 +0000 UTCI think Frank said he doesn't mind body horror but yeah, that movie sounds disturbing as F. I wouldn't be going near it. I'd probably get sick 🤢

2025-02-10 11:25:58 +0000 UTCYeah, I love Andrew and Florence too but even they didn't make it more enjoyable. Totally agree on your comment about movies about people coming back. I love indie movies and movies that focus on character and emotions and human experiences. I loved A Real Pain. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it. Simple, great acting, some good laughs and also very emotional

2025-02-10 10:11:33 +0000 UTCIf anyone is unfamiliar with "Sing Sing," starring Colman Domingo, watch the trailer. It looks incredible and has received a lot of acclaim. https://youtu.be/j3dXc6P3zH8?si=kuxXNkjdTqbuljYP
Melissa
2025-02-10 09:53:15 +0000 UTCI don't know how you feel about diff types of horror, but my best friend who LOVES horror movies and is rarely bothered by anything said The Substance was the most grotesque, disturbing movie she'd ever seen. I've never heard her talk like that about a film (except maybe A Clockwork Orange). Anyway, do with that info what you will. I only share because I know you've previously shared your feelings on the genre.
Melissa
2025-02-10 09:49:44 +0000 UTCYou would love iron claw!!

2025-02-10 09:25:18 +0000 UTCSame. I adore Andrew Garfield, so I really really wanted to like it! But I found it quite disappointingly derivative and the time structure confusing and detrimental. Oh well, they can't all be bangers! At least we're starting to have movies about people back.
Lola Lirola
2025-02-10 09:20:38 +0000 UTCIt is a very ugly body horror yes, but has a very powerful message to go with it.

2025-02-10 08:01:24 +0000 UTCI watched We Live in Time recently and it wasn't what I was expecting. It was a good movie but I wouldn't be recommending it to people. It's pretty downbeat and sad. And I'm not against sad movies at all but I just didn't enjoy it very much.
Kim D
2025-02-10 07:48:36 +0000 UTCI didn't knew The Substance before, so I looked after it. It seems to be a very ugly bodyhorror movie. 😱
Myra
2025-02-10 07:45:19 +0000 UTCThis.

2025-02-10 06:50:24 +0000 UTCVoting for Parasite and The Substance. I know your stance on horror, but I think these are films everyone should watch once.

2025-02-10 05:54:41 +0000 UTCI've only seen Parasite, Inside Out 2 and Nosferatu from the poll (Parasite would be my personal favorite of the three) but I'm definitely excited regardless of whatever wins bc I haven't seen a bunch of the other movies you've reacted to prior until I came across your channel and I've discovered hidden gems through you so I'll still watch alongside you no matter what ends up winning! :') I've heard of some of these though and I'm definitely curious!
