Many thanks my friends. Stay wonderful🌸

gotta love it man! I mean, it's one thing to chat up someone but to start showing them panda videos, that's another level of down to earth. I love it

Franklin

Oh wow that is so fucking cute. "and I did" 😂🧡

Franklin

My biggest celebrity meeting was Robert Downey Jr. I was 17 and had placed in a national art competition in the US where our artwork was displayed in the Capitol building in DC for a year, and there was a reception for us winners. RDJ was there, and I was a moody little goth girl back in those days, so he put his arm around me and jostled me around and told me to smile lol. And I did! 😂

Thanks for taking the time to reply Frank! I was just rewatching Before Sunrise recently and thought that, if you haven't watched them yet, that whole trilogy (Sunrise, Sunset, Midnight) would be very ideal for you to react to. There so much about those movies to chew on.

I checked in a bunch of WWE pro wrestlers working at my hotel job a while back. Including the current champ Cody Rhodes. He was very kind and talkative, and while I was checking in his travel buddy (Brian Danielson) he was showing me videos on his phone of a panda attacking some random guy in a Chinese zoo. Really solid guy, and every bit the down-to-Earth person he seems on tv.

Noct

Hello. You can here, or direct message me :)

Franklin

That is freaking iconic ⭐⭐

Franklin

I've met some Finnish celebrities, as Finland's the country I live in. However, during Helsinki Pride 2018, I did run into the American drag queen known as Thorgy Thor, best known for competing in RuPaul's Drag Race, and took a photo with her ^^

Wilja Tulijoki

Where would be the best place to open the topic of TV/Movie recommendations for Frank?

Oh, I wasn’t a child actor. Funny, I had posted that I realize almost everyone would be unfamiliar with Pixanne, but then I forgot about that when I wrote about being on the show. I don’t remember how my brother and I got to be in an episode, but each week Pixanne would have a live audience of children (you had to write in for tickets), and about a dozen kids got to be on the show. I don’t think we were just chosen from among the audience; I think we knew we had been chosen before we went to the studio, but I’m really not sure. As I recall, we were in segments like story time, where we just gathered around and listened to Pixanne tell stories. I remember we were in a segment where we were all parading around with musical instruments. (Funny, I remember my brother had a drum but have no recollection of what I had.) But it wasn’t acting. I was young enough and in awe enough that I probably didn’t even realize there was a person named Jane Norman acting; I probably thought Pixanne could really fly!

Barb Just Barb

Hahaha thank you!

FreshFry

Yep, lifelong Oregonian here (except a year spent in Alaska.) I love the Pacific Northwest 🌲🌊

Bethany that's me

Wow that's real. Always a fun time to see celebrities be actually kind

Franklin

That's so kick ass

Franklin

🧡 I'm so jazzed about it

Franklin

I'm pumped for both shows. ahh I bet you saw a lot. Is that where you're from?

Franklin

oh you're eating good over here Nick

Franklin

I know right. I'm going to miss that show

Franklin

Awesome. Thanks for mentioning that

Franklin

Small world for real. That's fun that you still have those pictures

Franklin

ABSOLUTELY DO IT LOLA😂

Franklin

Rozayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

Franklin

I will look these up

Franklin

A very welcome and fun storytime indeed. So nice of them to trade you guys to get tickets. I'm sure he meant funny as in haha. I mean you all went for drinks so I'm guessing The Vibes are good It must be very interesting to have met these people before they became super famous. Like small world

Franklin

I love how you describe that encounter with him. Some people really do leave a good impression. I've only seen him in a recent Marvel TV show called Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He's an amazing actor ohh you were a child actor. That's freaking amazing. I just looked up a picture of Jane and the TV show. Pretty cool

Franklin

Sounds good. Thank you

Franklin

i've been looking forward to it as well

Franklin

What a packed year

Franklin

Just to let you know, there is a 7th episode in season 3 of Derry Girls, and it's an extra long one!

Sam

Sounds like a chill job all around tbh. Sometimes I wish hurricanes/fires didn't exist Yes indeed, it's a fun loaded week

Franklin

I was a nanny between performance contracts when I lived in NYC, and worked for one celebrity. It was actually pretty low key, the kids were great, and the biggest drama was navigating the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. (They lived in lower manhattan where the power was off for days) Looking forward to the week here!

Ledgedancer

Oh and Atypical! Such an underrated and underwatched gorgeous, heart warming, funny, family drama ❤️

Kim D

If you're looking for more shows like Derry Girls, Fleabag or The Good Place, I have a couple to recommend. Two brilliant drama/comedy/romance shows - High Fidelity which sadly only has one season, and Love starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust. Both have realistic, flawed characters portrayed by amazing actors, and the writing is brilliant. If you google High Fidelity and think it's not rated very highly, I think that's only because it's a remake of a 90s movie and this version was too "woke" for some, seen as they switched some straight white male characters for black, female characters and queer characters.

Kim D

Definitely. And I also think he'd love Atonement

Kim D

Can't wait to watch Banshees again. Been a long while.

Shane

Great schedule!

Laura Thate

thanks miguel

Franklin

Who is it? 🫖🫖 I'm glad for you and your friend, that must be exciting! My kindergarten "boyfriend" from when we were literally 2 years old became a celebrity here in Spain and it's hilarious to see him as a toddler on some of my childhood birthday photos. He used to say he would marry me when we were old... Can you imagine if I took him up on that now that he's famous, and suddenly appeared on his doorstep after 45 years of no contact at all? 🤣🤣

Lola Lirola

Banshees... what a film. Was that 2022? Aftersun, Banshees, and TAR made a great trio of new favorites, especially the first two. The Batman, The Northman, All Quiet on the Western Front, Nope, Fabelmans, good year that 2022.

Blankzy

So cool. I remember when you told me that was Hugh on your profile picture 🧡💛

Franklin

I got to meet Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen last summer. (See profile photo.) They were both incredibly sweet. 🥰

Holly Robertson

The way you numbered the Good Place episodes, there's only two episodes left in this season. I know it's 13 episodes per season but the first (hour long) episode is sort of episode 1 and 2. Different streaming platforms list them differently, so it's confusing. Anyway you got 2 episodes of The Good Place left in season 2.

Miguel Lugo

Yessss finally Severance, oh my god I can’t wait. Thank you!! Now I will finally stop bugging you about it. Nobody spoil this show for him 👊🏻

Amanda Hill

I was introduced to Carl Lumbly once backstage after a play, about 40 years ago. OMG the charisma of that man! He took my hand and made me feel like the only person in the room for that 30 seconds. Well, it felt like a long 30 seconds; it was probably 10. But I can still feel the warmth of his hand and his personality when I recall it. I was a huge fan of his on Cagney & Lacey at the time. (Now there is a great TV show I’d completely forgotten about.) The only other celebrity encounter I can think of was when I got to be one of the kids on an episode of the Pixanne TV show, probably when I was 5 or 6 years old. Meeting Pixanne (Jane Norman) in person was pretty darn exciting at the time. I’m not sure anyone who isn’t a baby boomer from Philadelphia will have ever heard of her, but she was a big deal for us.

Barb Just Barb

Oh, story time! Apart from Spanish artists, when I was 16 years old, I met musician Beck, because he got lost in my neighborhood! 😂 It was a Saturday morning in November 1994, and I was at my highschool because the theater group rehearsed on Saturdays. We were just outside smoking cigarettes (gasp! different times, different times, I quit by the time I was 23). And all of a sudden, a big black bus stopped to a halt. Out of it came two very very foreign looking people! 😅 A blond, pasty man and a blonde pale woman, squinting around, looking thoroughly lost. Mind you, this was a residential street, with my small highschool (not like the campuses in the US, it was just a building on a street), a fruit seller, a stationery shop (the one where I once owed 25 cents!), apartment blocks, so forth. Zero rock and roll... They approached us, and I was the only one who could speak English, so I asked if I could help. They explained they were musicians, and were looking for the concert venue but couldn't find it! So I gave them directions, and in thanks they gave us tickets for the gig. Turns out it was Beck, right before he got famous! He had *just* released Mellow Gold, and was touring super small venues. The one where he played, Revolver, was a tiny room with about barely 60 people. We met him after the concert for drinks and took him and his girlfriend around the city. He said I was "funny", and to this day I still don't know if he meant "haha" or "really odd"... I also met Penelope Cruz before she was superfamous. She studied acting at a school that did free monologues and drinks on Friday, and she alternated behind the bar and onstage. I didn't interact that much, but she was pleasant and nice.

Lola Lirola

I'm gonna start a petition to get Frank to watch Before Sunrise! I think it is right up his alley, he would love it. And then do a double feature with Rye Lane and see how the same concept was picked up and modernized for a new audience!

Lola Lirola

Excited for Severance, because I started it two years ago when it first aired and absolutely loved it, but then life happened and I never finished it! Great opportunity to do it in good company on these threads.

Lola Lirola

I met Rick Ross at the airport years ago🤣

Sarah Wevers

Severance! I think you’ll enjoy it. And now is the time to watch, when the excruciating wait between S1 and S2 is finally over. Someone I went to school with is now a celebrity, but obviously I only knew them before they were famous. And they were always lovely, so I'm happy when I see them in something!

Leticia

Derry Girls will only have one episode left after that, since it's a longer one it should be good alone. This week will be interesting.

Pam R

i miss seeing hill house on this list 😭

alex !!

Omggg i can’t wait for severance

N

Very excited about "Severance" and "Midnight Mass" -- and super happy you're going to continue/finish "River." :) Thank you, Franklin.

Melissa

Hey just joined for Hamilton, Hill House, and Good Place and now youre doing Severance and Midnight Mass, hell yeah, two absolutely incredible shows

Nick Rosner

I'll be watching Severance for the first time along with the channel. Midnight Mass!! Love this time in the Flanagan multiverse. In my 30s I was part of a veteran's charity pinup troupe in Portland & we worked with many "celebrities," at different venues. (Picture a lesser Baldwin brother type)

Bethany that's me

I saw "We're starting Severance this week" and almost screamed?! That's my favourite show on tv right now, I'm so happy you're going to get to experience it!

Wanzi

I've met a handful of Japanese musicians and voice actors from when I was active/working in the con circuit and from when I did some work with JRock Revolution back in the day. To this day I treasure knowing how genuinely kind some of these folks are behind the scenes. I feel like contact with the American side of celebrity always has such horror stories.

Ally.C

I go to conventions for different TV shows so I've gotten pictures and autographs with a lot of different actors!
