So for context, last night my wife, a friend, and I made dinner and were watching "how to get away with Murder".. and a scene with Charlie came up, and I was like 'damn that's a fine ass man'. To wish my wife and our friend (a guy) didn't seem to agree that he was all that cute. At least not over the top.
The conversation then went into the attractiveness of white men in general. Obviously, no offense intended. Trust me, I hate to use the fucking '1 to 10 scale' because I think it's stupid, but for this, we had to. They said Charlie was a 7 and I was flabbergasted. And I was like if he's a 7, I want to see what y'all consider a 10. Trust me it was a funny back and forth.. My wife pulled up a picture of Pedro and said he was a 30 out of 10. (she absolutely loves Pedro by the way).. Our friend and I agreed that ain't no way Pedro is more attractive than Charlie. At this point in the fun argument, we agreed to just be objective without bias.
I know I know being objective here is just based on Western beauty standards. But we're talking about caucasian men after all. Bias or not my wife stood on 10 toes saying Pedro is still the best looking. She even put a poll on Instagram for people to decide lol.. So as usual, I'm coming to yall my other friends to ask for your opinion. This conversation was too funny to just keep with us😂 Remember no personal bias!

Listen, I know this is an old post, but I still wanted to put in my vote because this is something I have also talked about with friends. Charlie is one of those guys that does n o t h i n g for me. Sure, he has an objectively Western beauty standards face, but to me... It's like watching paint dry. Blank canvas. There are a number of celebrities that I know many women fawn over but make me shrug, and this guy would definitely go on that list. Mind you, this is coming from someone whose mother once described her taste in men as "skinny guys who talk really fast", so... Pinch of salt. I would swipe right on both John and Pedro, but in those pictures, Pedro definitely looks more like... A person, if that makes sense. Not a perfect doll, but a guy with a personality. Infinitely more attractive! (I'll also second the safety comments that others have left below. I feel safe with a Pedro.)

I will say that I think it has a lot to do with male/female gaze. From talking about this with friends and observing media, I've come to find that a lot of "straight men" will call men beautiful that "gay men" would also find attractive. For women there's simply a different perspective. Broadly speaking, of course. Just something I've come across also, and find fascinating.

I’m also personally more likely to like brown/dark eyes than blue, so also for that reason he would be the least attractive for me from this list. His hair styled like that doesn't do it for me at all, and based purely on that one facial expression he looks like he's about to say something patronising. The others are smiling and looking at the camera, which gives them an edge. I would agree with your wife that Pedro is the most attractive of the three, but I do find it hard to exclude my existing knowledge of him being attractive entirely. I've tried my best, but I do know that he's hot and I can't unknow it.

Most people talk about it like "their personality is what you notice ~instead~", but for me it affects the physical quite tangibly! For example, years ago I was single and got hired on a new company to translate medical records. And I met two men. The first man was a fellow translator: kinda short, round face, very "typically Spanish" looking, dark hair, dark eyes, olive complexion, classic Andalusian. The other guy was our software trainer: tall, lithe, with dark hair and blue eyes, and cheekbones that could cut glass. At first sight, I considered the software guy incredibly attractive, and the fellow translator as just your normal guy. Over the days in training, the software guy was stuck-up, classist, kinda mean, while my fellow translator was always kind, funny, cultured and still curious. So... I started noticing how software guy's eyes were actually very small, and his beard was too short, and his hands were always red, and his jeans weren't flattering, and he physically became uglier to me. While I started noticing that the fellow translator had really beautiful kind eyes, and his smile made cute crinkles in his nose, and he always smelled nice, and his hair was almost blue and shiny... People's personality physically changes how I see them! So, from those pictures, yes, Charlie is incredibly attractive, probably the most polished of the three, but Pedro's charm shines on his face!

If you used other pictures, I'd Charlie is more handsome than John is compelling. So, Pedro, Charlie, John. But beauty is subjective. I'm sure they'll all find dates to the prom.

None of them are really my type though, but I get where you're coming from. But the most attractive (admittedly fictional, I don't really know celebrities) white man is and always will be Aragorn. Or Legolas, he's just straight-up beautiful.

But that's also because I didn't like Charlie in HTGWM - like at all 😂 I really like Luke Arnold (he plays John Silver in Black Sails) or Hale Appleman (plays Eliot Waugh in the Magicians). But in my experience, one usually grows to find the people one likes attractive. So if I think somebody is okay looking at the beginning but I really love their character (either in real life or the character they portray in the case of actors/actresses) then - usually - these people become much more attractive to me than they were initially.

Trying to stay objective, and I don’t know if it’s just their facial expressions but Pedro just looks so friendly and open and fun.
